It’s a hundred degrees in the shade and you’ve invited the cool kids to your (parents’?) house for a Saturday afternoon pool party. You’ve got drinks, snacks and floaties, but what music to play? You don’t want to put everybody to sleep, but nothing’s worse than hyperspeed ear-splitting EDM bangers while you’re chillaxing. Thankfully, the New Dance station includes a lot of the new deep and tropical sounds that will impress your pals and set an upbeat but easygoing mood.

1. gnash – “I hate u, I love u (Feat. Olivia O’Brien) (Deepend Remix)”

artworks-000172557408-6dwqm3-t500x500Dutch duo Deepend scored a surprise hit with their breezy rework of Matt Simons’ “Catch & Release.” Now they bring their laid-back style to LA singer-songwriter gnash. This romantic number might even inspire a few makeouts behind the gazebo so keep an eye out!

2. A R I Z O N A – “I Was Wrong (Robin Schulz Remix)”

A R I Z O N A - I Was Wrong - Robin Schulz Remix ArtworkGerman producer Robin Schulz proved he’s the king of the “new mellow” with back-to-back smash remixes of Mr. Probz and Lily Wood & the Prick as well as his chart-topping originals album Sugar. Now he’s back with his first remix in at least a year, a hypnotic take on New Jersey combo A R I Z O N A. Any recently broken-up couples at the party will definitely get back together during this one.

3. Lapsley – “Operator (DJ Koze’s Disco Edit)”

folder-466British singer Lapsley released her debut album Long Way Home in March, and fans immediately gravitated to the disco throwback “Operator,” with many of us DJ types saying, “Somebody should do a dancefloor edit.” Well DJ Koze stepped up in a big way, with a smooth, subtle arrangement that will have all the hotties around the pool coming up to ask you, “Who IS this?”

4. Felix Jaehn – “Bonfire (feat. Alma)”

Felix-Jaehn-Bonfire-2016-2480x2480German producer and DJ Felix Jaehn of course rose to unexpected fame with his worldwide smash rework of OMI’s “Cheerleader,” the undisputable summer soundtrack of 2015. His latest original release combines tropical vibes with some soulful deep house piano, and has the perfect tempo for dancing on the pool deck with an elaborate fruity cocktail in your hand.

5. Fono – “Feet On the Ground”

artworks-4H1CZUU2ZYpQ-0-t500x500UK producer Fono scored one of the most talked about tracks of 2015 with his thrilling, chord-bending genre-smasher “Real Joy.” Now he returns with an infectious deep house groove which should have your hipster DJ friends (who won’t get in the pool cause it’ll mess up their hair) nodding with appreciation.

Start New Dance to hear all these cool tracks and much more!

I'm the dance/electronic guy at Pandora. I'm a fan of everything from drum 'n' bass to Boards of Canada to deep house to Tame Impala. I also like old Honda motorcycles, various whiskeys, and real fake doors.
