First and foremost, we hope that you and the ones you love are staying safe and healthy. While we are all navigating this challenging reality in different ways, we are also finding new ways to stay connected and supportive of each other through it all. At Pandora, our goal has always been to serve up the content that soundtracks in tune with your life, regardless of who you are, where you are, or how you decide to listen.

This moment-in-time is no different. Building a sense of community is more important than ever while we’re social distancing, which is why Pandora is introducing a new program designed for the world that we live in right now. 

Starting today, we’re launching Listen In, a new series of exclusive playlists that connect artists with listeners through music. Each artist-curated playlist will feature songs that are soundtracking their lives during this unusual time, with commentary about their connection to the music, what’s inspiring them, keeping them busy, or helping them stay focused on the positive.

5 Seconds of Summer: Fresh off of the release of their fourth studio album, ‘Calm,’ 5 Seconds of Summer — made up of band members Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford — created an exclusive playlist for Pandora packed with hits from Coldplay and Lana del Rey, as well as classics by Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie and more. “A lot of it is songs that inspired the creation of ‘Calm’ and songs that we’re listening to right now,” Clifford, the pop-punk band’s guitarist, explained of their picks. ” songs that help us feel inspired and motivated and happy during these times of isolation.” Hear 5 Seconds of Summer’s musical choices, ahead!

Alec Benjamin: Singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin wants to make sure we all jam together, even if we have to do it from afar. Featuring favorites by artists like Adele, Paul Simon and The 1975, listen along for his upbeat, soulful selections, as well as a personal message of support from Benjamin himself.

All Time Low: Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low revealed to Pandora what he and the rest of the band have been listening to lately, resulting in a playlist that “spans many different genres and many different flavors” so that “hopefully there’s something in here for each and every one of you.” Without further ado, hear from Gaskarth ahead, as well as songs by The Weeknd, Kacey Musgraves, Tame Impala, The Dangerous Summer and more.

A$AP Ferg: Rapper and songwriter A$AP Ferg put together a playlist packed with bangers to have you jamming from sun up to sun down (and beyond). “I’ve got a lot of music I’m listening to, artists I’m loving, artists I’m discovering,” the musician explained to Pandora, promising that his picks get a little “crazy.” From Bad Bunny to Kendrick Lamar, crank the volume on Ferg’s choices, ahead.

Best Coast: Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast wants to make sure we stay together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “I made you this playlist of songs that stand out because they have great melodies,” she explains. “During this confusing, scary, uncertain time in the world, I’m really trying to listen to music that feels familiar, safe and comfortable – and catchy. To me, that comes from melody, so here’s a playlist of catchy songs!” Featuring songs by Billy Joel and Built to Spill, Bruce Springsteen and The Beatles, listen along for a message from Bethany Cosentino, alongside her catchy picks!

 

Broken Social Scene: Broken Social Scene founder Kevin Drew wants to make sure we chill out together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “I made a playlist for the times of right now,” the Canadian indie hero says of his playlist that features calming sounds from ambient electronic artists like Mary Lattimore and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith alongside experimental pioneers like Carl Stone and Susumu Yokota — and even a surprise from Tom Waits. Cage the Elephant: From his home in Nashville, Cage the Elephant guitarist Nick Bockrath wants to make sure we all rock together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “Something that I’ve really been enjoying doing lately is listening to a new album every day,” Nick explains. “I try and listen to something newly released or something I’ve never heard before, even stuff that I haven’t listened to in years.” Featuring classics and deep cuts by GIl Scott-Heron, George Harrison and T. Carly Pearce: Singer-songwriter Carly Pearce wants to make sure we all rock out together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “Since we are all stuck at home, I thought that I would curate a little playlist for you guys,” she explains. “Stay safe and wash your hands!” Featuring favorites by everyone from Destiny’s Child and Dolly Parton to Trisha Yearwood and Faith Hill, listen along for a message from Pearce, as well as her top selections.

CeeLo Green: Singer CeeLo Green wants to make sure we all jam out together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “All the songs are so relative to life now, in real time, but great for that frenetic energy that you can burn off while being productive,” he explains of his choices. “Don’t lose it, use it. Common: Chicago rap legend Common wants to make sure we all get down together, even if we’re doing it from afar. You may know him for his wordplay or his acting chops, but did you know Common’s also nice with a playlist? Featuring stay-at-home classics like Patti LaBelle’s “On My Own” and Minnie Riperton’s “Inside My Love,” alongside lockdown admonishments like EPMD’s “You Gots To Chill,” and Jungle Brothers’ hip-house gem “I’ll House You,” listen along for Common’s expert quarantine selections.

Chicano Batman: Chicano Batman bassist Eduardo Arenas wants to make sure we all get down together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “I narrowed down my playlist to mostly soul and R&B and some hip-hop, focusing on songs that to me, really changed the direction of music, and life,” Arenas explains. “Some are dynamic, some are just genius – it’s a mix! It’s kinda like some early ’90s gangster s–t that I remember, growing up in L.A.” Featuring rap classics by Cypress Hill, KRS-One and Handsome Boy Modeling School alongside soul favorites by legends like Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers and The Persuaders, this is one playlist you don’t want to miss.

DaniLeigh: Singer, dancer and rapper DaniLeigh is making sure you get through this strange situation with a jam-filled soundtrack to keep you going. Her picks include her own collab with DaBaby, “Levi High,” as well new bops from Lil Uzi Vert and Megan Thee Stallion. “I hope everyone is safe and spending time reflecting on life right now,” she told Pandora. “Wash your hands, stay inside and enjoy your downtime!”

Eli Young Band: Singer and guitarist Mike Eli of Eli Young Band wants to make sure we all rock together, even if we’re doing it from afar. Putting together a collections of songs he’s been listening to lately by The Cadillac Three and Sturgill Simpson alongside several Eli Young Band favorites, and the Hot Country Knights, because “I think we all need a little bit of humor in our lives,” listen along for a message from Mike Eli of Eli Young Band, alongside his current selections.

Emotional Oranges: Emotional Oranges want to make sure we all rock out together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “We picked these songs as they accurately paint the roller coaster of emotions we’ve been going through!,” the California R&B duo explain. “We’ve been listening to a lot of soulful dance music to stay upbeat while writing our new record, and there’s a few great new and inspiring r&b projects that have been in rotation. Flora Cash: Indie pop duo Shpresa Lleshaj and Cole Randall — aka Flora Cash — are making sure you get through this unusual situation with a playlist that’s equal parts contemporary hits from musicians like Kanye West and Lana Del Rey, as well as classics by Roberta Flack, Vera Lynn and more. Flume: Australian super-producer Flume wants to make sure we all chill out together, even if we’re doing it remotely. “Here’s a few songs I’ve been listening to over the last three weeks in lockdown,” he says, introducing his playlist. Halsey: Superstar singer Halsey wants to make sure we all rock out together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “We’re living through some interesting times right now, but I know you guys are gonna pull through,” she says. Kristian Bush of Sugarland: Kristian Bush of Sugarland wants to make sure we all jam together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “This music ranges from comforting myself to making myself laugh or smile. A few of them make me dance. Mostly it’s here to make me feel better,” the singer-songwriter explains. The Chainsmokers: The Chainsmokers — aka DJ duo Alex Pall and Drew Taggart — have joined the cause, sharing an exclusive Pandora playlist full of uplifting, energetic bops that they hope will “transport” fans from their living rooms to somewhere a little more exciting. Third Eye Blind: Third Eye Blind frontman Stephan Jenkins, who says he’s “hiding out in San Francisco,” wants to make sure we all rock out together even if we’re doing it from afar. “What is it that makes a good playlist, when you’re all up in your house and you’re yearning? I know we all have the same desires in this moment. Something aspirational. Something that has that sense of collective idealism. Tommy Vext of Bad Wolves: Hard rock singer and songwriter Tommy Vext, who fronts the band Bad Wolves, is making sure we rock out together. “It’s a good time for us as a community to share music with each other,” he says of his exclusive playlist, which he describes as “all across the board” thanks to mellow tracks from Lana del Rey, as well as pulse-pounding songs by Suicide Silence, Korn and Ozzy Osbourne.

Wallows: Los Angeles band Wallows want to make sure we all rock out together, even if we’re doing it from afar. “These are some songs that we’ve been listening to during this time of isolation. Some are old personal classics/favorites, some are songs that have recently come out that have really impressed us, and others we’ve just recently discovered,” the band explain. “Either way, they’re relevant to some of us right now, and we feel like they’re songs you should know no matter what.” Featuring favorites by The Clash and The Human League alongside newer jams by Porches, King Krule and Moses Sumney, listen along for an eclectic and personal playlist from Wallows.

Young the Giant: Young the Giant frontman Sameer Gadhia wants to make sure we all keep rocking out, even if we have to do it from afar. The rocker created an exclusive playlist for Pandora featuring favorites from Gorillaz, Radiohead, and even the solo work of Young the Giant’s guitarist Eric Cannata.
