It won’t happen again for 70,000 years. Thanksgiving 2013 has a special twist; Hanukkah begins on Thanksgiving this year, some are referring to this occasion as “Thanksgivukkah.” Naturally, Pandora curators have taken advantage of this once-in-an-eternity opportunity to commemorate these two popular family holidays, both of which focus on gratitude. What better way to celebrate and say thank you than with music?

We have two genre stations fitting for the occasion, both of which have been spiced up for 2013. Thanksgiving Day Radio can be your soundtrack during the day, whether you’re relaxing or cooking, and Hanukkah Radio can be the accompaniment to dinner.

If you’re celebrating a traditional Thanksgiving, we invite you to enjoy Thanksgiving Day Radio. You’ll hear a feel-good mix of songs about home, family and giving thanks from a wide variety of artists, including Jack Johnson, Jim Brickman, Simon & Garfunkel, Mumford & Sons and The Band from the classic Last Waltz Thanksgiving concert.

You may not be stuffing your turkey with brisket, but perhaps you’re considering including latkas (potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (jelly-donuts) on your Thanksgiving table to celebrate the Jewish festival of lights. Hanukkah Radio has some new and exciting flavors to complement the traditional sounds. You’ll hear new versions of old classics, sung by artists such a Craig Taubman, Erran Baron Cohen and Shira Kline. You’ll also hear new music from Indigo Girls, Maccabeats, Matisyahu and Adam Sandler, putting a modern twist on the holiday. Be sure to personalize your Hanukkah station using the thumbs to get your preferred mix of new and traditional during the eight-day celebration.

We invite you to enjoy Pandora Hanukkah Radio, Thanksgiving Day Radio or shuffle both stations for a “Thanksgivinukah” mash-up. However you may celebrate the seasion, we wish you a happy and music filled Thanksgiving and Hanukkah!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT PANDORA: when I chose an artist from my 'list', like, say 'Earl Klugh', I can just keep that station on ALL NIGHT/ALL DAY long - don't have to change a thing. The same 'style/theme' of music just keeps coming my way - all within the vein of the artist I originally selected! The real beauty of that is, as the artists change within that same venue, I get to hear others I've never heard before - and - discover that I really love them.. Pandora's GENOME ENGINE just keeps it going! What an incredibly wonderful concept! Keep rockin'-on, Pandora!! You're a genius, Tim!
