Last night we unveiled our newest product offering, Pandora Premium! It is a completely reimagined music service that redefines what ‘premium’ could and should be. Pandora Premium is designed to open up a world of music completely unique to you. The upcoming features tune into each listener’s individuality and leverage our deep knowledge of musical data; it will be an effortless and flexible experience for all subscribers. We can’t wait to start rolling it out to listeners in early 2017!

Check out this sneak peek video we debuted last night to get a closer look.

I have been waiting for this for some time now! Hope Pandora raises the bitrate to compete with the other big services.

Hope it will stream directly through devices (receivers, TVs, etc...), like Spotify does

Will you create a FAQ explaining how this differs from the current paid version of Pandora?

Oooh, how exciting. Yet another $10 subscription on-demand streaming service that ignores every part of our fellow music listeners but the thumb. Mouth? Mind? Heart? No, just their thumb. Is social interaction anathema to a successful streaming service? Lala did a great job; rdio did a great job; Deezer sucks; Tidido did a good job but, umm, really wasn't above board; Spotify, Apple, Google, Amazon all suck. I just want a place to hang with fellow music lovers to discuss and share. Man, I miss my local record store. Thanks Pandora for "rescuing" rdio from bankruptcy. Really appreciate that.

Really hoping that this fixes some of the issues that Rdio had, with the biggest one being a lack of gapless playback -- also please do not require Flash (AKA giant browser security holes) for playback, I can't remember if Rdio required Flash but in 2016 HTML5 audio is what is expected. It would also be nice to see a music locker feature with the ability to match my library to theirs. I'm also assuming they're bumping to at least 320k AAC, which is where Rdio was when it shut down, but it would be nice to see an optional CD quality to stream at -- I'm happy to pay more for such a feature, but offering this at $10 would be big over the competition. Major bonus points if there's an option to download full 24-bit, 96/192kHz audio when purchasing or storing for offline playback. It may not seem like these are the kind of features that the majority of your user-base would be excited by, but people can recognize better audio quality and gaps between songs on a live album are almost painful. Plus the CD quality streaming and HD downloads would easily put you in a place to say you offer higher quality audio than Apple/Spotify/Google/Amazon. Rdio at one point had an ability to real-time see what friends were listening to, but lacked the ability to message other users... I would have to leave and go to another site to send a message. The social aspects of Rdio + it's awesome UI were what made it the best for discovering music. My fingers are crossed for these aspects of Rdio to come back plus the improvements above and you'll easily have the best streaming service out there!! Oh, and you still have all the email addresses of the old Rdio subscribers... send us a "Welcome Back Home" email or something before launch :)

This is awesome news and I agree bitrate MUST be at least equal or better than Google and Spotify or it will be a non-starter. If bitrate is at least 320kbs, then I CAN'T WAIT to cancel my Google Play account. They just ruined their UI with the last release. Been waiting for Pandora to come out with this for years!!! GOOD JOB PANDORA!
