UPDATE:  You’ve asked and we listened.  We are excited to announce that as of today, December 2, 2014, the option to be billed annually is back and available for purchase from your computer.  We’re constantly working to make Pandora One the best possible experience and we are dedicated to providing you with the best personalized radio in the world.  Thank you for your passion for our service and for your support.

For more information on the annual plan click here.

Over the next couple of months, we will be implementing some changes to our Pandora One subscription plan so that loyal listeners can continue to enjoy a premium, ad-free Pandora experience.

Screen Shot 2014-03-18 at 1.37.00 PMWe’ve been fortunate to be able to offer Pandora One at an affordable price since its debut in 2009 at $36 per year and later with the introduction of a monthly subscription for only $3.99 per month. Over this same period, the costs of delivering this service have grown considerably. For example, the royalty rates Pandora pays to performers via SoundExchange for subscription listening have increased 53% in the last five years and will increase another 9% in 2015.

In order to continue to provide an ad-free listening option, we are implementing some changes to the way we price Pandora One, including a modest price increase for new Pandora One subscriptions:

  • Existing Pandora One monthly subscribers that remain active will not experience a price increase at this time and will continue to pay $3.99 per month.
  • For new subscribers, the subscription price will change to $4.99 per month starting in May.
  • Existing annual subscribers that remain active will migrate to a discounted loyalty price of $3.99 per month at their next renewal period.
  • We are ending the annual subscription option.

Beginning this week, annual subscribers approaching their renewal date will be notified as the update is applied to their subscription. Monthly pricing for new subscribers will take effect in May, allowing time for new subscribers to take advantage of discounted loyalty pricing if they subscribe before then.

Our listeners are our top priority and, while this affects only a small percentage of our listeners (3.3 million subscribers of more than 250 million registered users total), we hope that you understand why we have taken these steps. Our goal is to continue to be your go-to internet radio destination and enable you to hear the music you love wherever and whenever you want.

I see a lot of questions why Pandora does not show up on ATV. I don't see any answers.

The app will only appear on the newest generation of Apple TV (4th gen). If you have an older Apple TV unit, you will not see the app, but you can still airplay. Any other questions, email our support team: http://pdora.co/writeus.

I see the writing on the wall. No annual subscription means that you can raise the rates again every few months if you want to, and we can't save some money buy paying for the full year in advance.

I have been a Pandora subscriber for about a year and all of a sudden I am getting commercials among my music. What can I do? I am still being charged on my credit card.

I have been a subscriber for a few years, pay my bills on time, and never miss a payment. My credit card expired as I received a new card with a chip. The payment was delayed as I updated credit info. After resubscribing because of outdated credit info, my payment went from $3.99 to 4.99. I feel like I was "screwed" by your system. Can you get me back to $3.99 ?

I'm definitely not happy with the way you guys implement your system. I have been a subscriber for multiple years and last year I was not notified that there was a problem with the payment information until after the service was already expired. when I contacted support about it they did give me a one-time option to renew at the old rate, but when I found out that time was that there was no way to update the payment information from a mobile device. it happened again this year, & I have a regional power outage so I'm not able to get to a computer. I got the email this morning so I tried to update the payment information, but when I follow the link in the email and open up the browser it just opened up the Pandora app automatically. I tried clicking to view desktop only mode, and it says it requires flash - which I actually have on my phone, but it's an old version since flashes no longer provided for mobile devices anymore. so basically there is no way for me to ever update my payment information which means every single year I will be faced with a situation where my rates will go up and in the meantime I will have to listen to those god awful commercials whose value is always louder than the music. I don't understand why its so difficult to allow your subscribers to update their payment information and to give them at least a day or two to fix it without having to cross their fingers and hope that someone the email is able to give them the rate they were paying. if I am ever told that I won't be allowed to keep the rates I was paying entirely because your website won't allow me to update credit card Information manually I will probably never use Pandora again. It's not that the dollar difference is significant, it's what it would represent to me. as general feedback, you guys really need to improve your system for updating credit card information.

I second this sentiment... it's like you're trying to trip up your best, long-term customers. Adios, Pandora!

I recently subscribed to Pandora and I'm so happy with it! My only confusion is that I'm subscribed through my account on my computer, but my subscription isn't recognized on my iphone. It says I need to sign on through my itunes and that doesn't make any sense to me.

Hi Shannon - Pandora accounts follow the email address and not the device. You just need to sign into your iPhone app with the same email address and Pandora password that you upgrade and you will have Pandora One on your phone. If you are hearing ads on your phone but not your computer, that means you have two accounts. Please email our support team for further help: http://pdora.co/writeus.

I have had Pandora One for a few months now. Out of no where Pandora charged me 5 times in a row on the same day. Who can I call to fix this?

I am leaving Pandora paid subscription because I keep getting ads. I thought the point of paying was to stop hearing ads. idk if it is just on the classical station but it's annoying.
