It’s time to kick off a new school year and Pandora has you covered with a new selection of Back to School stations. Stumped on what kind of stations to create stations for studying, partying or to get you pumped for the game or athletic event? Our curation team has some suggestions to get you started:
When it’s time to buckle down and hit the books, try one of our Studying stations. Research shows that classical music, particularly Baroque, activates both sides of the brain, increasing your learning capacity and retention.
Classical for Studying features selections from Mozart, Vivaldi and Haydn for brain food and modern-era classical to keep you alert. Or, you may find Electronic for Studying an effective way to block out distractions and keeping your brain fresh with a mix of electronic and ambient music. You’ll hear artists like Air, Boards of Canada, Brian Eno and Liquid Mind.
Hanging out with friends of just kicking back on the weekend? Check out one of our new Party stations: Hip Hop Party plays Hip Hop and Rap jams featuring 2 Chainz, ASAP Rocky, Mac Miller and Lil Wayne. You’ll hear club dance favorites with a mix of today’s hottest dance hits on Club Dance Party, with artists like Afrojack, Basshunter, Daft Punk and David Guetta. For today’s indie dance music mixed with underground classics, check out Indie Dance Party. You’ll hear Diplo, Hot Chip, Two Door Cinema Club and OK Go. On Reggaeton and Hip Hop Party, you’ll hear artists like Pitbull, 3Ball MTY, Don Omar and Rihanna. You can listen to the artists breaking out of college campuses across the country on Today’s College Indie, including Beach House, Dirty Projectors, Tallest Man on Earth and Ty Segall.
Finally, football season is here! Whether you’re getting pumped in the locker room or heading to the game, check out our pre-game stations. On Rap and Hip Hop Pre-Game you’ll hear artists like Rick Ross, 2Pac, DJ Khaled and Nelly and Rock Pre-Game will crank out jock jams from AC/DC, The Black Keys, Disturbed and Led Zeppelin.
We hope you enjoy our new Back to School stations and have a great school year!
