Borrowing their name from the title of Charles Steen’s children’s story, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are an indie-pop group from New York City, led by singer and guitarist Kip Berman.

During their visit to the Oakland office, the band comprised of Jen Goma on keyboard and vocals, Jacob Sloan on bass, Christopher Hochheim on guitar and Anton Hochheim on drums, performed an intimate version of “Kelly,” from the album Days of Abandon. The Pains of Being Pure at Heart station plays songs from The Radio Dept., Film School, Say Hi To Your Mom and other indie artists that feature fuzzy, dreamy, rhythmic guitar lines.
