Day two of #PandoraSXSW showed the soulful side of R&B, powerhouse hip-hop and lots of hands in the air. Discovery Den’s second day featured huge crowds onstage and off and ended with Wyclef Jean singing from the balcony.
Here’s some of what happened…
BJ the Chicago Kid brought his classic soul sounds from the southside of Windy City all the way to soul-steeped Motown, including an amazing cover of Teddy Pendergrass‘ “Love TKO.” Of course, the crowd went absolutely wild when he dropped his rocked-out version of Schoolboy Q‘s “Studio.”
Rich Homie Quan flexed on stage and turned up with Pandora – bringing his whole crew out plus a surprise visit from TY Dolla $ign. Fetty Wap whipped the crowd into a frenzy singing the mega hit “Trap Queen.” Migos may have broken a record for the number of people on stage – recreating a Quality Control mix tape live at the Discovery Den with Jose Guapo, Skippa da Flippa, Rich The Kid and more joining them onstage like it was the party to end all parties.
Closing out the late night, the entire venue went crazy as Wycleff Jean started freestyling from an alley next to the venue over his DJ! His full band finally kicked in and he ran through hit after hit, dropping Fugees songs and Wycleff classics while running laps around the entire venue, jumping off the stairs and exploding with energy. His set rocked on to a packed house until the early morning ending with him singing down to the crowd from the balcony.
…and that’s just Day 2!
