Spent a wonderful evening with Jeff and Stephanie at a cozy NY cafe – lots of great feedback and ideas from these two thoughtful and enthusiastic Pandora listeners… Thanks you guys for taking the time. It’s made me eager for the next gathering. We’re thinking of a Southern states swing in March… starting in TX. Let me know if you want to host one.
Also, tomorrow we’re going to be on Air America – Rachel Maddow did the interview in NYC. Rachel rocks… It’s scheduled for 2:30pm EST as part of the “Al Franken Show.’ Info on their website. http://shows.airamericaradio.com/alfrankenshow/

Oh - one addendum. Buttons that say "I like this song, but not on this station" and a "I really dislike this song on any station, don't ever serve it to me again" might get you (and your advertisers) some useful information.

Heard about it on Air America. I'm hooked now. Pandora Rocks. I turned all my friends and family on to it and frankly everyone loves it but are upset that they'll be spending all their money on new groups they didn't even knew existed thanks to Pandora. You guys rock. Thanks!

As most people who would post here, i highly enjoy this project. However, it sucks up way too many resources in it's current implementation. it's ludicrous. also; it would be fantastic if you could allow more of an interactive conversation between listener and pandora for finding music. beyond just adding artists and individual songs for fine tuning, you could allow to look for more open ended searches along the lines of what comes up in the "why did you pick this song" answers. otherwise fantastic product with a wide selection. can't wait to see where this goes.

Whenever you get the chance to meetup in Portugal, I'll be glad to host you... I'm sure a drink by the sea would feel nice. Love your site and been using it for months. I'm also spreading the word. To Paulo, from Portugal, who comented earlier: É bom saber que também há pessoas de bom gosto em Portugal!

I LOVE THIS! Its not internet radio, its my radio from home that I forgot. We would love to host Pandora here in Milwaukee, WI anytime this year. I work at a local free press (just like your free radio with ads!) and everyone on staff has Pandora going all of the time. email me and lets talk. I want to help spread the word about this great invention!

Genius strikes again. I fall behind your growing number of established supporters as I was just introduced to your site last week. Plenty grateful to that friend of mine who told me about the site and the project. I am even more appreciative of how your crew brewed this idea and served it to the vast circle of music lovers. Those listed prior were good suggestions, and it is good to continue making enhancements. However, what I know of your service right now enthused me enough to speak to a couple more people about it. The chain will hopefully go on - and from this and others, this idea called Pandora will fully tip - if it hadn't already. I will be moving to San Fran in a few months, but any chance of a planned Boston trip for you all in the near future?

To the Pandora Team, GREAT PROJECT!!! Categorically, simply one of the best ideas relating to music I've met on the net - and i spend more time here than my body needs believe me! I can't imagine how busy you must be but I'm guessing very so I'll try to keep it concise. Comments: critical feedback may be of the variety you've heard, please don't take it as ragging at all - if i spent this contact telling you what's awesome from the name Genome to the fact that it's free I doubt you'd read this all. BIG POSITIVE: Thank whatever almighty there may or may not be (inclined toward Wakan Tanka, Kali and Buddha but whatever) that somebody is UTILIZING and ADAPTING TO the possibilities of the internet paradigm rather than trying to restrict its potential within the heavily established shop-front box mentality. It's like Creative Commons style licensing versus the reaction to sampling in music by the music industry in mid 80s and beyond. Fear Of A Black Planet and Psalm 69 might never have happened if label owners had the kind of creative control corporations want over the net right now, but they're two of the finest slabs of sound ever punched out. You're out there now, GOOD WORK!!! fb/ suggestion: For what I'm guessing has many elements of a pilot project, it seems you've anticipated many users' wants & needs obviously being music fans yourselves. As lushly diverse as your music categorisation back end would seem to be, i'm guessing that the nature of the lyrics/ artist's attitude is not an attributable area when music gets put in the system. Clearly, this would be difficult to do, given different subcategories possible and divergence of perceptions. But it would be great before this thing blows up if Pandora was enabled to start recognizing that there's a distinct difference for many people between, for examples: Bjork and Deep Forest (thieving m.f.s that they are), Mr Lif and Jay Z, Dead Kennedys and Linkin Park. I guess it's about giving an option that considers music in terms of what it says, in addition to or rather than how it sounds. Please drop a line and let us know how we can hook you up with a bunch of wicked underground sounds from crunchy bent bands, hiphop acts and noise artists making wicked sounds in Australia.

P.S. >>> just read other suggestions and not trying to start any kind of blog bitch-in, but NO ADS BETWEEN SONGS!!! Once they get in it's game over if history is any teacher, we have a choice about reacting to ads we read but once that stuff gets airtime between tracks - uh-uh. We've been so corporated that people think that having a department called 'creative' in marketing agencies isn't even ironic.

I think one new new application of this technology could be some sort of iTunes or Media Player plugin. As an individuals local music collection grows its much harder to organize and find music, especially searching for a mood or acoustic style. I would gladly pay for a service which did just that to my own personal music collection.

Hello. Congratulations for this project. I've been spreading the word and I always (and I mean always) get good opinions (like my own). I think it's brilliant to bo able to say "I don't like this song, don't play it again on this station", very clever. I wanted to ask you if you are also expanding the musical database in classical music. I wrote Chopin, as an examplo, and it suggested me Choppa. Same for other couple of artists. So I've asked. Thanks for everything great so far. And the interface, perfect! Very beautiful. Too bad you can't go back on the list and listen to a song twice. But hey this is supposed to be radio-like, right? Awesome site and service! Two added things would make Pandora all that more GREAT... 1) "LOOK FOR IT" (button) and music service for artists or songs not currently listed in the Genome Project. 2) Create music stations by selecting a "GENRE". Especially for listening to 'hard to find' music like Jazz, Acid Jazz, Trance/Ambient and House.

Think of this: a "Pandora's BOX"... a wireless MP3-player-like-device that streams Pandora in WiFi hotspots or wherever there is a wireless internet connection. With a display that shows the same content the Flash GUI does. Can you say "Bye Bye, XM & Sirius (and FM radio for that matter) !?!?" :) (subscription or not)

Not only is Pandora a great service, I truly respect the voice of the site. Friendly, knowledgable, engaging. It's obvious the listener comes first with Pandora. I sent your site around to fellow music freaks at my company in November after reading your Fast Company article. The Pandora Player continues to be everyone's favorite. One thought we all had - renaming your "Minimize" button to something a bit more intuitive. "Undock player" might be an alternative. Regarding advertising - I'm crossing my fingers you will not launch audio ads without a variety of committed sponsors. A number of us stopped using both AOL Radio and Launch as a result of hearing the same spot 5-10 times in an hour. (My parents didn't nag me as a teen as often as Yahoo was telling me last year to upgrade my Launch service for the cost of a cup of coffee. I hate repetition. Also, coffee.) It is my assumption that you have some of the smartest, highest earning consumers on the Web listening to your terrific service. What a wonderful thing it would be to have equally smart sponsors who respect and understand this online medium and its intelligent listeners. Yes, I live in a dream world. With rivers filled with delicious, chocolatey Ovaltine. Soundtrack by Pandora. Thanks for the great service. And best of luck - looking forward to seeing what's next!

I know many radio station sites which help find similar music like this one, but I feel Pandora is the best with the no-nonsense approach. I seriously have no idea how long I have been listening, or how I bumped into this gem in the web. One thing for sure that, me being outside the US, it was not through Air-America. Maybe I like music THAT much? Thank you, and keep streaming! PS: I hope you guys do something about allowing non-US residents. Surely audio streaming regulations are much more relaxed outside the US as there are only few listeners of English songs comparatively (for example, me!)

I don't impress easily (especially where websites are concerned) but Pandora is totally amazing. I discovered it a few days ago, and I've been telling everyone I know about it. I'm trying to figure out whether it will cost me a fortune because of all the great artists I'm discovering or if I'll just listen to my Pandora stations for the rest of my life (no doubt the artists and your sponsors would prefer the former). I just need to figure out how to install satellite broadband in my car. Sirius Shmirius... Seriously, thanks for this remarkable musical taxonomy you've so successfully undertaken, and keep up the good work! (and lotsa luck with Bach, Beethoven and Stravinsky) I'm sure I'll have some constructive complaints after I've lived with Pandora a while longer.

Pandora is brilliant. Regarding the comment made on Dec 16th about the only reason to abandon Pandora would be if the advertisements became to frequent. Perhaps one should consider paying for this application in order to fuel its excellence.

Regarding one of the first comments above: ""I would happily accept a commercial before each sogn, if the software granted me that ability to explore a range entirely unfamiliar genrest based on" One of the reasons I have ditched every other music service, is because of online advertisements that I'm forced to *listen* to. Even every 3 or 4 songs is too much! Please, I hope you guys don't go this route. I'm begging you! I've already clicked on a few of the banner/graphic advertisements to check things out, and bought a CD. But being forced to listen to ads is a whole 'nother ballgame.
