Much to our chagrin, on the heels of our being forced to block virtually our entire international listening audience, we now have to add Canada to the list (beginning May 16th). We had been hopeful that the licensing situation with our Northern friends might have some hope of imminent resolution. However, after a tough week, and in the wake of the substantial attention the blocking has clearly brought to this issue, it’s been made clear to us that we cannot continue streaming into Canada.
No need to reiterate just how difficult this is. It’s just a terrible thing for music that there’s not even a licensing structure available that would allow a webcaster to stream legally outside the U.S.
I’ll reiterate our commitment to fighting as hard as we can to fix this absurd problem – we only hope that reform will come soon so that we can get back to the business of listening and discovery.
My sincerest apologies.

How come Slacker Radio can be in Canada but not Pandora? It's pretty damn close to the same thing, though IMO, Pandora is better. Does Pandora only need to open a small office here in Canada to be able to do it?

Well isn't that nice...all just so those slimy record labels can show gullible Canadian politicians how "it's impossible to provide legitimate services" without a draconian Canadian DMCA. Even though services like Pandora and direct MP3 downloads from Amazon have nothing to do with it in reality. Politics are shady!

Just moved down do the US and didn't realize how much we were missing up in Canada. Between Pandora and Hulu, I can always find something to entertain myself when I should be doing work.

It is now about 3 years later since Canada no longer has access to Pandora, Is there anything anyone can do? A petition? Pandora and it's project is extremely amazing and I only see good things that can benefite Music in sales and public freedom I hope someone is listening to us and therefore make Pandora available once again to Canada Arturo

Not only Canada. All over South America we are suffering for these regulations. Isn’t fair that only 1 country on the world can listen to Pandora (legally) we are too many people that are missing of this great project. Please fight not only for Canadians….for the entire WEB. LOVE YOU Pandora
