We’d like to thank all of our Atlanta listeners who joined us for our “Walk Through the Genome” party at Tree Sound Studios on March 9. It was a pleasure to enjoy the positive live sounds of Laura Reed & Deep Pocket, as well as those of the great new band Folk Festival. We loved getting to meet a great bunch of Georgia listeners, and answering some very thoughtful questions.
You can hear more music from Laura Reed & Deep Pocket in our new video about Tree. Here are some photos from the event, courtesy of Pandora’s Jennifer Zeidler:

I hope you know you killed my network when I let my coworkers know about Pandora! What a great service! I would like to put together a kid's radio station but currently find that that will turn out to be more folky than child oriented. It would be great to have Dan Zanes', Raffi's, Captain Bogg and Salty Dog's, and other's childrens music(that list is extensive as you may or may not know). An attribute for kids 2-5, 4-9 and 7-12 along with appropriate genres would be great too. Thanks, Tim

Glad to hear you liked the Laura Reed songs, Pates! Tim -- children's music is something we are hard at work on right now. We will keep you posted as we make more progress on enabling children's music stations.

Am new to Pandora. While listing songs, artists or composers works well with most kinds of music, the system doesn't seem to work well with such World Music performers as Ali Farka Toure, Oliver Mtukudzi, Orchestra Baobab or Youssou N'Dour. I get a lot of American Blues or Folk/Blues performers rather than African performers from the same country or region of Africa. Any thoughts?

Hi Barb - Good question. Your African music stations veered into other musical styles because we simply don't have enough African music live on Pandora yet. But we will -- soon! We're working hard to build up our international music collection. Our music analysts are being specially trained and we're increasing our music collection massively. We're very excited to release more international music genres on our site.... It'll be worth the wait!

Next time, I recommend that you stop by Savannah, GA. The Savannah Music Festival (just over) is great. Check it out with Rob Gibson.
