Welcome to Roadtrip Central! This is a continuing chronicle of my journey around the country, as I meet with Pandora listeners and musicians to learn about what you want to see happen with music in this digital age. I hope you enjoy reading about my past stops - from a three person meet-up in a Biloxi diner to a packed get-together in a huge MIT lecture hall.
I hope you'll take a minute to share your favorite bands, clubs, lodging and eateries in your city. If you don't see your state on the blog, just post to 'Other States' and I'll make a note to try and visit! I look forward to meeting and hearing from you!
Cheers...

White Rabbits :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 35
These drums are intense. This kind of propulsion from the toms is not without its antecedents, but it's refreshing to hear it in this context. Upon first encountering White Rabbits -- a band that got its start in the great college town of Columbia, Missouri -- the drumming of Jamie Levinson sounded like an energetic update of David Barbarossa's Burundi-influenced work. Barbarossa was the powerhouse rhythmatist who drove Adam & the Ants, Bow Wow Wow, and studio sessions for Killing Joke and Public Image Ltd.
White Rabbits make these rhythms their own, however, as you'll see in this live videos.
"They Done Wrong, We Done Wrong"
The band made a great video for the studio version of "Percussion Gun," too.
Sprint in Kansas City
Just returned from a great gathering at the headquarters of our mobile partner, Sprint. We held a town hall meeting on their college-esque campus. Quite some digs, complete with health center and 5 cafeterias... with 60,000 employees it's probably fair to say they're the larger of the two partners...

A couple hundred folks showed up to the event, which was also closed circuit broadcast to their Reston campus. Particular shout out to Celia for her tireless work spreading the word. And to Alana, Jeff, Laura, Jonathan, Craig (volunteer mic runner) and of course Patrick our first Sprint contact from many moons ago... nice to finally see this all become real...
