Welcome to Roadtrip Central! This is a continuing chronicle of my journey around the country, as I meet with Pandora listeners and musicians to learn about what you want to see happen with music in this digital age. I hope you enjoy reading about my past stops - from a three person meet-up in a Biloxi diner to a packed get-together in a huge MIT lecture hall.
I hope you'll take a minute to share your favorite bands, clubs, lodging and eateries in your city. If you don't see your state on the blog, just post to 'Other States' and I'll make a note to try and visit! I look forward to meeting and hearing from you!
Cheers...

Peter Himmelman :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 36
Minnesota-based songwriter Peter Himmelman has had an intriguing and varied career. He started out in MPLS working with R&B crooner Alexander O'Neal, and over time brought his own dusky baritone to work in support of his soulful and thoroughly American songwriting. He writes and produces original albums of children's music as well. What we didn't realize is what a crack-up Himmelman is, as you'll see in these interviews.
Mason Jennings :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 13
I think you guys are going to really enjoy Mason Jennings.
Mason lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two sons, and crafts album after album of plain-spoken, poetic, insightful music. The acoustic guitar, harmonica, and rootsy rhythm section might call to mind a certain R.Z. from Hibbing, MN, but Mason has really come into his own as a songwriter.
Here are four songs we recorded at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, two of which are from his most recent album, In The Ever.
