Yoni Wolf from Why? :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 38
Two disclaimers:
1. WHY? may be my least favorite band name ever. The chief songwriter and leader is named Yoni (pronounced "Yo-nee") Wolf, and his drumming brother is Josiah Wolf. Granted, there is a panoply of Wolf bands already, so the Wolf Brothers is out. Besides, this a trio, with Doug McDiarmid -- not just the Wolves. But to capitalize the full word and yell the name? And to end the name in a question mark? It's a copy editor's nightmare. Their lyrics, though = fantastique.
2. Back when I wrote for TinyMixtapes.com, WHY?'s Elephant Eyelash album topped my Best of 2005 list. This has no particular bearing upon these songs, which are mainly culled from their 2009 Anticon release, Eskimo Snow. I just wanted to be able to say, as Kurt Cobain once mocked, "I was there first."
