White Rabbits :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 35
These drums are intense. This kind of propulsion from the toms is not without its antecedents, but it's refreshing to hear it in this context. Upon first encountering White Rabbits -- a band that got its start in the great college town of Columbia, Missouri -- the drumming of Jamie Levinson sounded like an energetic update of David Barbarossa's Burundi-influenced work. Barbarossa was the powerhouse rhythmatist who drove Adam & the Ants, Bow Wow Wow, and studio sessions for Killing Joke and Public Image Ltd.
White Rabbits make these rhythms their own, however, as you'll see in this live videos.
"They Done Wrong, We Done Wrong"
The band made a great video for the studio version of "Percussion Gun," too.

ITs hard to write so much about "white rabbits" and not make a deferential to "Grace slicK" who said so much in one kool song. Also your picture a rural leafy scene brings back memories of that great Jim JarmusCh film "down by law" about a civilized man from italy consistantly snared by the knowing powers of the soutH, portaid so well by mastriantonio mastriacelli.I ended up laughing so hard, tears were flowing. He so enjoys the ice cream at this prison, that decides to teach his them a Round of "I scream, you screama, we all scream, for ice cream! Pretty soon thE whole prison is enflamed and rioting and he is forced to leave all free food and nice bed and security they gave him.
