This is plain silly!
Today,on my first attempt to create a station, the first "suggestion" was a cut from the Eric Clapton unplugged album.
I gave it thumbs down and the message appeared "this artist will not be played for [...however long]"
After two more HIGHLY PREDICTABLE SOFT-ROCK PABLUM CHOICES, surprise: here comes Eric Clapton unplugged again. A different cut, but certainly not only the same artist, but the same album.
BOGUS!

i think it is a bad idea that you can only have 6 switches a time what if people do not like the song

When I typed in Phil Keaggy and his Beyond Nature album popped up and began playing I actually started crying. I had a casset tape of this album playing in the delivery room when I had my children. We played it so much we wore it out. Well, time got the better of me and I never went around and to get a DVD of this recording. Thank you for refreshing me with this music.
My little old dad told me about Pandora a few years ago and not being as computer savy as he until recently, I just tried it out a few minutes ago.
I feel Pandora may just be an integral part of my life, as I truely love and live music.
Sincerely,
Linda Henneberger Hayes

I love Pandora, but for some inexplicable reason, I get a occasional tune in a genre that I can only describe as Latino Accordian! Even after giving the 'Thumbs Down' I continue to receive this. My channels are:
Chris Issak
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss
Dave Matthews Band
U2
John Mayer
Any suggestions?

I just have had this installed. I have a retail space and everyone that comes in comments on the music. I do love it.
One suggestion. It would be great if we could shufle the music between stations so it isn't hours of country or jaz etc. I love to mix it up but it would be too time cosuming to do it manualy. Maybe every two songs it switches to another stations or type of music. What do you think?

@Payton -- I'd recommend setting up different stations. If you have 99 stations to choose from, surely as you jump between stations you'll hit upon a stretch of songs that you'll like. Think of this as radio: put it on, sit back, let it run. We are limited to a certain number of skips per station for legal reasons (since we are radio, and not an on-demand service).
@Dan and @Linda Henneberger -- Thanks, both of you! We're very happy to hear that.
@Jim -- is it the same song you're hearing across all of these different stations? Could you let me know the specific name of the song and artist? That way we can test to make sure the analysis is accurate.
@Cynthia -- Any song you add will make that station play tracks similar to that song... so it's a recommendation-based playlist. As Pandora is radio and not an on-demand service, it's not built to play the requested song immediately. The station will most likely play "Pretty Wings" as well, but not right away.

@Sue -- I recommend trying QuickMix. It shuffles between all of your stations, and makes a cool master-mix of everything you've set up. Here is how to do it:
http://blog.pandora.com/faq/#478
[an excerpt from that link's information:]
QuickMix is a feature designed to allow you to listen to more than one of your stations at once. This offers several benefits.
For those who'd like to 'merge' two stations, QuickMix can give you that effect. A side benefit is you can still get six skips per hour on each of those stations when refining their playlists. Then you get another six skips per hour in QuickMix mode.
Also, unlike regular Pandora stations, QuickMix, when set to shuffle several stations, plays only one song at a time based on a particular musical influence, so the mood changes more often.
To use QuickMix, just click "QuickMix" in the lower left of the main rectangular Pandora Tuner, then select the stations you'd like shuffled, then click "Listen Now." The particular station that has generated the current song will be identified by an orange border, or 'halo,' around the station name in the list of stations on the left. Giving "Thumbs Up" or "Thumbs Down" to a song played by QuickMix will affect the station from which that song originated, as indicated by that orange halo.

I love pandora, execept when it stops and asks me if i am still listening....YEA I AM, or i would have logged off.

@Samantha,
Hi -- yeah, we have to do the "are you listening," since we pay for every song we stream, even the ones you skip. We just need to make sure you haven't left the radio on and gone out to see a movie or something.
Or, say, left the radio on and taken off for a week in Tahiti, anything like that.

"I wanted to add Maxwell's pretty wings to my playlist but it gave me other Maxwell songs instead why???"
@Cynthia
Hmm that didn't happen to me.
Strange.
