Tricky :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 28

trickyThe UK town of Bristol, across the water from Wales,
brought trip hop to the world. Portishead, Massive
Attack, and this week's guest -- Tricky -- all
sprang from that small city's vibrant music scene.

Tricky's most recent album, Knowle West Boy,
is a visceral take on working-class England,
and is an autobiographical account of his childhood
in the housing projects of Bristol.

"Council Estate"

"Past Mistake"

"Girls"

"Overcome"

Wasn't he also in the movie the Fifth Element? If this is the same guy, I didn't know he was a rapper. Interesting.

Yes, indeed, Tricky was in the Fifth Element.

For some who doesn't know his album yet. Here's a glance.

"Knowle West Boy is the title of the eigth Alternative rock / Trip hop album released by the popular rapper "Tricky". It features the following tracks written by Tricky: "Puppy Toy", "Bacative", "Joseph", "C'mon Baby","Council Estate","Past Mistake","Coalition","Cross to Bear","Baligaga","School Gates" and "Council Estate". The "Council Estate" track is the first track that features Tricky on the vocals. The album also features: "Veronika" with Tricky and Veronika Coassolo, "Slow" with Kylie Minogue, Mr. Dan and Emilana Torrini, and "Far Away" with Tricky and Veronika Coassolo."

He's a good rapper.

Good Luck to you Man!

@nikki: yes he was, Luc Besson just thought he was the right man for the part. And he really is a trip hop titan. thanks @kevin seal :)

This brings back memories...lazy days in the garden listening to his hypnotic vibes. Trip hop was inflential to lead me to take music up professionally, and Tricky and Portishead lead the way.
