hi,
where would i make suggestions for the app itself?

i have a suggestion about the "are you still listening" thing which really annoys me when it stops playing when i'm still expecting to hear songs...

why not play a song in mute or fade the volume down to zero for a little bit to discover whether or not i'm listening? if i do come back to the page, pandora can resume playing at regular volume. fading out the volume will be my cue to come back to the page...

this sounds similar to not playing songs, but it's kind of better because it'll bring me back to make sure the songs keep playing and there's no guesswork involved for the app itself.

I'm a "blues" guy - could ya guess? - but my 'roots' are all jam-band.

Spent the better part of my 'youth' traveling across the country following the Grateful Dead & Company (Phish, New Riders, etc.)

Hopefully you'll be doing a piece on *my* music here someday!

Let me know where to send the demo...:)

Pandora is going downhill. The latest is now you are limited to how many songs you reject. Not just on one station. either. Then Pandora lies, and says its some kinda licensing agreement.

"Its a new kind radio-stations that play SOME of the music you like, but NEVER on demand."

Posted by: warren kruse at June 4, 2009 11:21 AM

@guest -- I'm still not quite understanding why playing songs silently would be preferable to pausing the play. The reason we ask if you're still listening is that we pay for every single song we play, so "playing to an empty room" means we're quite literally wasting money. That's why it's best to just pause, make sure you're actually there, then resume. If you'd like to change the time between those questions from one hour to five hours, then check out Pandora One: http://www.pandora.com/pandora_one

@Blues_Guitar -- Do you have a full album finished? We play commercially-available albums -- even if they're just recorded at home or on your computer -- but not demos.

@Warren Kruse -- That's no lie; that is a licensing agreement to which we're abiding. And yes, we're a free service, not an on-demand one. That's what makes it radio. On-demand is different from what Pandora offers. Enjoy it for what it is! Free radio stations that adjust to your tastes and preferences.

I think it would be cool to have a stats page. Total plays, Total ratings, Top voted songs, etc.

Thanks

Kruse.....if you don't like it, go listen to the radio and all it's crap. You can call in and make request there. PANDORA is excellent! if you play something I'm not in the mood for, "Thmbs down", next song please. Keep on rockin'!

agagagagaga Pandora keeps playing "Kernkraft 4000" and "Satisfaction"... it's getting very old.

there are lots of holes that piss me off. the whole limited rejection of songs is dumb and you know it. thats pretty much the only thing holding you guys back. its a sweet concept. make it a sweet website. dont be bitches because because youre trying to be unique by calling pandora a radio.
