Blu & Exile :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 22

blu & exileWhile we're in the mode of West Coast rap,
here's a trunk-rattling set from Blu & Exile,
the underground Los Angeles team responsible
for the Below the Heavens album.

Be forewarned that Blu is, well, blue.
His rhymes are stocked with profanities
and very un-P.C. references, and are
tagged with a big, glowing, beeping,
flashing "Explicit Content" button.

"My World Is Blu"

"Soul Amazing"

"Up All Night"

"Blu Collar Worker"

is this the kevan seal from KQLL? it HAS to be. It's Tami Barrett from TU, Kevan. How about this Pandora stuff? I absolutely LOVE it. I discovered it thru a friend - who actually is a higher up at KTSO (your ol stomping grounds). Anyhow -- it's the technology I've been awaiting all my natural born daze. TOO COOL - music on demand...gotta DIGGGGG-IT-MAN!

Hi, Tami,

Alas, nope, not the same Kevin Seal... I'm also not the Kevin Seal who hosted "120 Minutes" on MTV way back when... but I get that a lot. Kind of a common name, apparently.

Enjoy!

Rapping referred to as MCing or emceeing, its a vocal style in which the performer speaks rhythmically and in rhyme, generally to a beat.

I'm in the Bay Area. I will have to check these guys out next time I get a chance. Thanks for the tip!

I simply love this stuff even if it's full of profanities ;)

Posted by: Goran at May 11, 2009 02:50 AM

Awesome. It just wouldn't be the same if they edited out the swearing - I hate it when they do that to good music.

thanks for the free tracks, bay area hiphop has always taken my interest!

Good good!

I'm glad you guys don't mind the salty language. I'm not a big fan of the cleaned-up, silenced-out versions of those songs either. Messes with the verbal flow too much.

Posted by: Kevin Seal at May 12, 2009 12:20 PM

Great sounds, but I'm not into the profanity.

Posted by: Deanna T. Redfern at May 12, 2009 04:48 PM

Wow, I was positively surprised when I listened these guys.

Posted by: James Murray at May 13, 2009 06:24 AM

I like the profanity it just wouldn't be the same without.

Wow Loving this thanks, glad it is not watered down.

Would have been nice to see how the taskbar handles windows from program not pinned on it. Because actually you only showed windows launched directly from the taskbar itself.
