Marcus Shelby Trio :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 17
Many of Pandora's music analysts are jazz musicians.
I'd even say "most." Many play jazz professionally on a regular basis, and most play jazz less regularly, but at home for the sheer joy of it.
Playing jazz requires ear training and harmonic sensitivity, both of which are helpful when answering 400 to 700 questions about each new song in the Music Genome.
This is one reason why I use the word "finally." We finally have some jazz in our video concert series, and it's a set by the outstanding Marcus Shelby Trio.

great that you are making progress with blackberry models but why not start with the newest models ie storm. I was at first excited about using pandora on my phone to be frustrated by the addition of only two older models on the verizon network. Hurry!
Posted by: scott wilson at March 20, 2009 08:05 PM
In fact the set is so long I will post it in two parts, this is the first twelve songs, part two will feature the last seven songs of the regular set plus six encore tracks.
All good things, as they say, must come to an end. Now, I don't know that this blog ever really qualified as a "good" thing, but, from June 4, 2005 to March 5, 2009, it certainly provided me some much-appreciated distraction from the real world.Turkisch free mp3 download.
I've always assumed that I would keep this blog going for as long as I was alive to do it, and so I have. But change is afoot, and the time has finally come to put this thing out of its misery.

I would like to know how I can get pandora on my phone, I have a tmobile blackberry pearl? I did not see tmobile under the carrier selection.
Posted by: Brian at March 21, 2009 08:03 AM
I just loaded Pandora for my BlackBerry Pearl 8130 on Verizon. The streaming audio bit rate is so low that there is very little stereo stage and cymbals sound horrible and harsh. Slacker Radio sounds so much better. Its a pity because the Pandora BlackBerry application is really fast and responsive. Can't you increase the bit rate, or make it selectable? I'd even pay the $36 member fee to ensure good streaming quality. As it is I can't really listen to it. Thanks,
- Bill

Like Pandora...glad my daughter sent it to me. Set my husband up on it, too.
One question though: when, if at all, will it be available on the Blackberry Storm?
Posted by: Samantha at March 21, 2009 04:10 PM
I have been listening to Pandora for a couple of years, I LOVE IT!
Posted by: Sharon at March 22, 2009 06:42 AM
@Brian -- We're working on being on all carriers, including TMobile. Please check back; we're working on developing these for many platforms, but each platform is different and requires its own work to make possible.
@Samantha and @Scott Wilson -- For other Blackberries, please check back to http://www.pandora.com/blackberry . We are working on other models, and will keep rolling them out as they become available. It's currently Bold, Curve and Pearl, but more work is underway.
@Toma -- We are on Twitter, eh! I'm twitter.com/pandora_kevin, and our Community Manager Lucia (a much better Twitterer than I) is twitter.com/pandora_radio.
@Spencer -- Check back for Android. As with all other platforms, we will keep making them available as we can. I'll make the dev team aware that you've requested it.
@Bill -- I'm going to copy you on an email to pandora-support@pandora.com regarding the audio quality of your streaming. Thanks.
@Sharon -- Thanks!! I'm happy to hear that you like Pandora!

Have been listening to Pandora a lot and discovering what a limited play list you have. It is becoming almost as problematic as listening to commercial radio stations that play the same songs over and over. Can't you add to your play lists? Or does it cost you too much?
Posted by: Tricia at March 27, 2009 04:12 PM
Hi, Tricia,
Our playlist is more than a half-million songs. It sounds like perhaps you've only made one station with one seed. Have you added any other stations, or other artists to your single station? You can make up to 99 stations on a single account.
To access more songs, check out the question "How can I add more songs or artists to my station?," right here:

Hi, Andrea, Sandy, Lori G -- cool that you saw that Rolling Stone piece, too.
John -- We are on a number of devices that let you play Pandora through your home stereo, and are working on more. Here's a page that shows some of those players that we're on (check back for Roku):

There's a nice jazzy track by veteran synthpop group, Depeche Mode, on their upcoming album, 'Sounds Of The Universe'. The track is called 'Jezebel'. Thought fans of jazz music might be interested.

A friend sent me info on Pandora and I feel in LOVE! Music is such a huge part of my life, evoking memories both good and bad. I'm a child of the 70's (turned 10 in 1970) and that's when music was the greatest. I'm going nuts adding stations. I love most genres-pop, rock, country, most 70's songs, classic songs from the 50's, 60,s and even before. THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT PLACE TO SIT AND REMEMBER.......
Memories......brought to you by Pandora!

To Whom It May Concern:
At the risk of being pedantic and of the many things I have been called, pedantry is one of the favorite titles my critics like to bestow on me. At any rate, LYRIC is the words of a single song. The plural is LYRICS and that is the reference to more than one entity. Please, you are an organization of seemingly talented and above ordinary people and I would be disappointed if youse didnt spell, punchuwate and talk gud english.
