Gabe Dixon Band :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 18

gabe dixon band

This week's videos are of three gents based in Nashville -- or Nashvegas, as some call that city -- who infuse their songs with the wild and fullfisted piano style of Jerry Lee Lewis and Dr. John. There's a clear line between young groups like the Gabe Dixon Band and the blues and early rock n' roll masters who inspired them. In this set, they are performing songs from the appropriately titled Gabe Dixon Band album. This set was shot at the Pandora office in Oakland, right before the band crossed the bridge to perform at the Fillmore.

"Sirens"

"Five More Hours"

"Is This Love?" (Bob Marley cover)

"'Til You're Gone"

Hey, we didn't know you are in Oakland. We are in Oakland, when not in Hollywood. Where do you guyz reside? Can we come see you? We are two rabbits, named Buns and Chou Chou

The jazz is just awesome!

Posted by: Flower Girl Mom at March 24, 2009 04:21 PM

Not related...but I just noticed the lyrics tab today! Very cool, Pandora!

I just hope y'all keep the audio ads to a minimum...I'd love y'all even more!

Keep up the good work!

Jacquie and Flower Girl Mom -- I'm glad you like the jazz! Lots of jazz fans among us here at the HQ (me among them). I'll let Marcus & Matt & Jeff know you that liked their performance in those videos.

John -- Good eye. And quick! The new on-site lyrics went live this morning. It's something we've wanted for quite a while here, and we're all glad that they're up and available now.

Buns and Chou Chou -- I'm gonna write you directly. We should meet up for coffee, eh? That is, if rabbits drink coffee...

Jazz is an interesting genre in music. It's like the Mystery genre in writing, if that makes any sense. I'm not really into jazz, but good song choices. I'm just an Alternative Rock, and just Alternative music listener. aka: the academy is..., All time low, Something Corporate, Jimmy Eat World, etc...

Posted by: Kate at March 26, 2009 09:26 AM

Hi, Kate,

Like the Mystery genre, hmm? Interesting comparison...

Thanks, Steve!

I can't seem to find Hypernova on Pandora they haven't really hit it huge in the US but they have played some pretty big events including Pangea Day, SXSW, and others some of their bigger songs include Fairy Tales, Viva La Resistance, and Universal. I could not find a contact anywhere so hopefully this finds its way to the right people. Hypernova is alternative and would be a great addition to Pandora Last fm has it
