Glitch Mob :: Concert Videos :: Vol. 7
This is the first time we've featured electronic music in this video series, and it's fitting that the group to kick it off is Glitch Mob, the futuristic hip hop DJ collective of Ooah, Kraddy, Boreta and edIT.
Since so much of their set is improvised, we will leave the track names up to you:
This show captures the four gentlemen at the 1,000-capacity Mezzanine club in San Francisco, and yes, as the density of the crowd indicates, the Glitch Mob sold the place out.
.
Here are individual artist pages for members of the Glitch Mob collective: Kraddy, edIT and Ooah.

Just wanted to show my appreciation for such an amazing website. I'm not one to kiss ass, but seriously, you guys have opened up my eyes to so many different indie bands and broadened my musical horizons so much, and I found out about this website YESTERDAY. I'm not kidding, half my iPod is different. Whoever created this website is absolutely brilliant. Thanks so much.

By putting in ads that play in low quality between songs, you are going to cure my pandora addiction, meaning if you play the ads I'm not going to use you anymore.
Posted by: Anthony at January 9, 2009 06:13 PM
I am in total agreement with Anthony's statement about ad's in between songs. I have SOOOO enjoyed being able to just listen with out all the crap. I was really disapointed when an american idol ad came on. I thought something was wrong with my computer at first. Then I saw it was an AD....Bummer!!!
Posted by: Lynn at January 9, 2009 06:26 PM
I wish those american idol ads didnt' start appearing during my listening station.. it's really annoying to be listening to music then be blasted by that ad all of a sudden and very often.. boooooo

I'm loving the genre-based stations, but you guys really need to add some world music-themed stations! Bossa nova, afrobeat, bollywood, klezmer, salsa, celtic music: there's all kinds of cool world music genres that I think would be worth adding.
I currently keep both the AOL Radio and Pandora apps on my iPhone; Pandora for when I want something more tailored to me, and AOL Radio for when I want to explore a bit more. If you guys could match or surpass AOL Radio's selection of genre-based stations, Pandora would become the ultimate music service for me.
I've greatly enjoyed using your product for some time now, and I look forward to future improvements to your awesome service.

What's with the commercials? This is ridiculous!
My already irritating Monday has just gotten worse. If I keep getting commercials, it'll be hasta la vista (pandora) baby.

Hi, guys,
Yes, we are running occasional audio ads. It's a tough pill to swallow, I know, but given the costs of streaming and the payments that go to every artist we play, we really need to have paying advertisers to cover our operational overhead.
How often are the ads appearing? They shouldn't be appearing very frequently -- are you hearing them more than twice a day? (That is, twice in eight hours' worth of listening?)
Posted by: Kevin Seal at January 12, 2009 03:42 PM
I'm done with Pandora if the audio ads continue.
Posted by: T at January 13, 2009 12:21 AM
Yesterday was the first time I began to hear ads. I understand the cost of running a program like Pandora must be great but I am afraid if you begin to do this, you will lose customers such as myself. I have a subscription to XM radio yet chose to listen to Pandora at work. Pandora filtering ads narrows that gap that encourages me to lisen to Pandora over XM. I must have heard the AI ad at LEAST 2 times in an 8-hour work day. Just heard another as I type this 9:15 this morning (been listening for an hour). sigh

That American Idol interruption reminded me 'you get what you pay for'... and so I did. Hey, $36 a year isn't much for the opportunity to listen to exactly what I want. I put my staticky Bose in storage and one minute it's tango and Carlos Gardel, the next Mozart, Bach or the Modern Jazz Quartet.

Thanks, Alice! Carlos Gardel, eh? Oooh, nice:

Shelley and T, if you want to avoid ads altogether, that $36-per-year option turns all of that off. Otherwise, the ads cover our costs. Less than one dollar per week is what that works out to. Here is more information on the subscription:

I had two audio ads with exactly 15 songs in between. Too often for me. Time to start looking for a pandora alternative.

I just got an advertisment on my radio. It looks like the end of Pandora if it keeps happening. That would be a shame, I love this radio. Please stop any advertisements. I don't want to have to stop listening

I was assaulted today for the first time in my Pandora experience1 What the f*ck are you doing by inserting these ad for network tv into my down-time listening? I don't mind if these ads are tucked to the side, but if this is the way you're headed, you can soon count my ass out - as well as thousands more!
Posted by: kal at January 20, 2009 09:46 PM
yes............
Posted by: dawud at January 21, 2009 04:07 PM
Give me a break guys 2 ads per day is an absurdly low price to pay for a kick butt service. As for the clowns that are saying that Pandora is losing a customer if the ads continue. ..Your not paying for it anyway!!! It is a great service even if there is an ad or two thru the day. Better yet if you can't stand the ads pony up the $36 and knock yourselves out....
Posted by: Jonathan at January 22, 2009 06:36 AM
Wake and smell the coffee. Two ads per eight hours is just the beginning. Check back in three months.
Posted by: Dan at January 23, 2009 12:16 AM
Thanks, Jonathan!
To re-iterate what he said, if you want to make your own Pandora experience completely ad-free, it's just $36 for a full-year.
Less than ten cents per day.
Here's more information on that:

I dig Pandora - thanks for all the great music. I'd like to know something technical - why is it that the folks at www.last.fm can do the following:
A. Get you the exact song you want to hear if you type it in, and then,
B. take that song or artist and make a genre-focused station that's interesting and has huge variety, and then,
C. let you skip the stuff you don't like ad infinitum
I find that even combining 15-20 different songs/artists on pandora with the quickmix, I get bored quickly. Is it a licensing issue? (maybe last.fm is not paying for all the music and can have a bit more variety?) or is it the Music Genome concept and program itself?
Maybe the MG program needs a little more human intervention than it's getting. One thing the MG is missing is irony - if I put in Air Supply and Journey, it's because they are funny and rock in a big hair 80s way, not because I want to hear Phil Collins. That's probably impossible for a computer to understand, but then again, maybe Pandora takes itself a bit too seriously?

I asked to have Jeththo Tull's "Christmas song" added to my Jethron Tull station and the result was I was swamped with Christmas songs. I have had to eject song after song until I had to wait until I could continue. I would really apresiate it if this problem was corected.

I have been listening to Alice Cooper radio for 2 hours and I have not heard one single Alice Cooper song. What's the problem?
Posted by: Cary Rude at January 29, 2009 04:12 PM
Please play more Alice cooper songs on my Alice Cooper Radio. Thanx.
