Singing Harmonies, on Video
Here's five minutes you'll be glad you spent.
Two great singers, Greg Giles and Kelly Atkins (left), joined us to talk about different ways you can sing harmony:
Contrary motion
Parallel motion
Unison
Counterpoint
Antiphony (call and response)
Drone
Motion graphics artist Daniel Cardozo illustrated the piece, so we get to see those melodic and harmonic lines moving across the screen as they're sung.
Let us know what you think, and also what other types of videos you would like to see on here. We, as always, are mostly ears.
We have also posted the sequel to our video about the Knitting Factory in New York, where we get the full backstage tour. Enjoy!

Pandora,
I too am a huge fan. I hate my own music collection now and am bored with my iPod. It is a drag that you had to lay off people. However, rather than blame it on the times or try to change your model to get listeners to subsidize, which will never be a long term solution (otherwise - you would have used that model in the 1st place)- take a look at your business model and look to it for solutions. Your progress with iPhones and cellular in general is genius - too expensive in my mind, because us consumers get nickel & dimed to death with monthly charges (phones, satellite, cable, etc). As the great Yoda once said,"Fear is the path to the Dark Side." Dont let your fear get in the way of what you are trying to accomplish - advertising is still the answer - how can you get us to see more ads, see them on cell phones....? What if as part of membership we all agreed to receive an email from Pandora every day with a summary or highlights and links to all your paid advertisers...? Just a thought - but I must admit I do not like the pressure pay by turning off my music every 15 minutes. I am not the answer, nor is my $36. You know that is a short term bandaid and probably cannabalistic to your core business - dont piss of your customers (that sounds harsh, and of course I am not pissed off, I just think that your are grasping with that as a solution). Good luck. I have faith that you guys will figure this out - you have a smart Board. If I can be of any help strategically, feel free to contact by email.
Regards,
R

Speaking of melodic music, isn't that one of the genes of the music genome project?
Any chance we could see an additional feature added where we could build a station by selecting music genes? *insert puppy dog eyes here*

Tim,
What a smart concept..I stumbled upon your application on my new iphone. Since I am not really a fond of Ipods and downloading music I just happen to investigate if there was a music station I could get onto my iphone for whenever I have a chance to listen to some relaxing music to unwind and there you were. Just what I had in mind!
I was so impressed that I also downloaded Pandora to a co-workers iphone. Hopefully, your website continues to grow... What a remarkable set of tunes. Well Done, I'll continue to advocate your and network your station. Oh, by the way the name is quite clever!!!:)
Thanks Again,
Arlene

Pandora's fantastic!
My friends and I want to type in our selected (duplicate) radio station at the same time and hear the same selection all day long - can that work?
