Second Annual Poster Contest!
We are almost half way through the entry period for the 2008 Pandora Poster Design Contest and we wanted to remind you that you have until August 18th to send in a poster design. If you are an artist, a designer, or an art lover we'd love to see what you can come up with!
All you need to do is create a poster about Pandora! Feel free to explore themes of music, technology, philanthropy, music education, or whatever moves your muse. One thing we ask is that you don't redesign our logo (official specifications can be found here ).
In addition to sharing your creative imagination, you will be helping to support youth music education around the world. Following the success of last year's contest, the three winning posters will once again be printed in limited editions, and given as gifts to donors to our GlobalGiving philanthropy projects.
We plan to announce three winners again this year: Grand Prize, Runner Up, and Editor's Choice. The Grand Prize winner will receive $500, the Runner Up will receive $250, and the Editor's Choice winner will receive $500. All three will also include some great publicity on our blog.
We're eager to see where your creativity takes us this year!
Good luck!

But theres only 1 thing i dont like, u cant go back 2 songs! and even if u bookmark them u can only listen 2 the preview. Its annoying sometimes! But i am telling my friends about it and they might check it out, so i guess uve made a mascot out of me!

Hi,
When will Pandora be available on Sprint Instinct? This phone is also selling like hotcakes...

Hi,
there are some technical problems with Pandora. It's not playing music. Do you know if it's scheduled maintenance???
Thanks!!!!!!
Posted by: Alex at July 29, 2008 11:45 PM
When I first registered you asked for the name of a song oe artist. I just listen to music which 'moves my muse', (your phraise which I like very much).
Could you add 'type of music' to the name of a song or artist?
The type of music I like is romanic, calm, slow jazz and new age. I don't compute in my brain artist or name of songs.
Thank-you

I just found the Pandora app for my touch16. Very impressive. I have been able to get very good results with it. Sounds beautiful. Pandora without the computer and the desktop app very well saturate me musically!

@bob
Thanks for the compliments! The limitations you describe are part of our music licenses. These licenses let us play a lot of great music for free!
@megatec45
@tina
Thanks for the suggestions! We're always considering new ways to let you listen to Pandora.
@alex
Pandora Support will be getting in touch, since you might have several different issues. They can also always be reached at:
pandora-support@pandora.com
@jim
We do support entering some types of music (for instance, try typing in "jazz" or "new age" instead of an artist or song name), but we don't publicize this much since most people get better results with a more specific station. There are also a list of experimental Genre Stations under the Pandora Tuner, in the Pandora Extras area (Genre Stations is the middle option).
@everyone
Feel free to write us for technical or functionality questions at:
pandora-support@pandora.com
We answer our email 24/7/365, and usually respond within 24 hours.

I have been patiently waiting for my Instinct to receive Pandora. I regretted trading my other phone when I fond that the Instinct did not receive Pandora, now I read this and it just fuels the sore spot. I feel discriminated against just because I don't have an i-phone! (Mild sarcasm) please hurry with the Instinct drivers!!!!!!!

Hi:
After reading through all the blogs and comments on the internet, I have come to the conclusion that Pandora must be getting kickbacks from i-phone sales.
How much would it take to expedite service on the Instinct???
Posted by: Keith Kuehl at July 31, 2008 10:05 AM
Tom,
I love Pandora and it would be even better if it worked with my blackberry 8800. I would definitely use it, so hope you can develop support for it sometime soon.
Thanks

Hi Keith and Jon -
Just making sure you saw this comment from Tom Conrad, Pandora CTO, on the iPhone blog post:
"Believe me, our goal is to bring Pandora to as many phones as possible -- in fact we support almost 30 different phones right now. We love Windows Mobile every bit as much as that "other phone." The truth is that the Windows Mobile world is much more complicated than the iPhone -- tens of different handsets with different keyboards, screens, input types (some touch, some not), etc. That means it's not nearly as simple as creating a single application that will satisfy a large audience. That said, we're hard at work on it and hope to have some news on that front later this year.
-Tom"
Also posted by Tom:
"Note: Pandora is currently available on approximately 30 other mobile phones. Check http://www.pandora.com/on-the-go to see if your phone is currently supported. While we're not ready to talk specifically about timing, for those of you with smartphones from other vendors please know that we haven't forgotten about you and we're hard at work on versions of Pandora for your phone too. Stay tuned!"
Thanks everybody, for your patience! (And no, we're not getting iPhone sales kickbacks!)

I just discovered you yesterday, by accident actually. Let me just say that was one the best accidental discoveries I have made in a long time. I love that I can throw out a name or a music type or whatever and then get basically my own personal radio stream without commercials for hours of that type. Just so you know, I am a believer - have put you on my blog and would easily up a donation if you had such options available. Keep up the great work!

You guys may not get any kickbacks from iphone... but you should :P

I would love to see Pandora be made available on the Zune MP3 player, which has an FM transmitter.
Pandora is wonderful!

I love the idea of one day getting Pandora on my phone and clearly you are working on making that possible for as many devices as possible. You guys are brilliant! Just want to put in a good word for my Blackberry Curve on AT&T. I already love my phone but would love it even more with Pandora. Thanks for all the amazing work!
Posted by: catherine at August 4, 2008 02:47 PM
I won't change from my LG Fusic to the Instinct until I get the word that it can use Pandora. THAT'S how much I LOOOOVE PANDORA!
Posted by: ntwkgirl at August 4, 2008 06:34 PM
I love listening to Pandora. I have shared the good news with many of my friends. I have a T-Mobile cell phone. When are we going to be able to listen to pandora on our phones.
Posted by: Yolanda Caad at August 5, 2008 12:41 PM
I don't if the SDK supports this but I would love to see a coverflow of the previously played songs for the Iphone version. I like to listen while I drive and often miss on "thumbing" songs. If you can't access the coverflow methods, at least some way of thumbing previously listened songs would be great!

If pandora doesn't come soon for the instinct, dont't worry! Word on the street is a new and better player is coming soon...

Two things:
1) Any contest that allows continuous public voting is a waste of time. People who enter late can't possibly win, plus many people stuff the ballot box. Find a better way to do this... that is if you're still around, cuz...
2) I read somewhere that Pandora is going out of business soon. Bad news. I love pandora!

It is a shame, it such beautifull music, but when you need to do house work and other things, running back to verify if you like it or not is a big problem, especially when it goes off (auto, are you peeking?) and you are still in listening area and you have to verify you are there. Some of us listen to the music and must do work in the house to keep it together for others, have you forgotten that. I hope not.
I can't buy everything you offer in your advertisement, I'll have no money for the family.
Running a family you can't be in front of your computer for every song to verify.
If you are peeking into my privcy that is illegal.
