A new episode of "The Musicology Show": The Trumpet
The trumpet has been with us for hundreds of years. How has time changed the horn? How do you get a tone from that mouthpiece? Does the field of trumpetry require a certain level of masochism? Gene V. Baker gets into the fundamental and higher harmonics, and shows how just three fingers can hit all of those pitches. We also get into the cornet, different mutes, and a bit on the slide trombone as well.
Thanks for taking the time to listen,
Kevin

I tried without success to add the great all woman rock band Fanny to my Pandora station without success. How disappointing -- these creative innovative women are not represented in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nor on Pandora.
Their retrospective box set is available via iTunes.

This could have been 5x as long and I would have listened as intently. Great job.

Wow, thanks Andy! It's wonderful to hear you enjoyed the podcast so much.
Kevin's at SXSW right now, but I'll make sure he sees your comment. :)
