What's On Your Mind?

plr_header_blue.gif
Hey all - happy new year!

Last year we talked a lot about things like what we think music might be, what it is like to listen to music, how we think music works, whether there's any way to determine whether one piece of music is better than another, and so on. Let's call it musical aesthetics....

We also talked about our favorite music books, specific musical discoveries we've made, our musical histories, and the like. Call that comparing notes....

And last but not least, we talked about Pandora-related things like what happens when something doesn't "fit" on a station, how you use Pandora in your everyday life, and so on.

What do you think about this list of subjects? What, if anything, would you want to add to it? What would you like to discuss with me and with your fellow listeners? What answers, or questions, do you think we can track down?

Share your thoughts, and I'll keep a list and make sure the weekly posts make periodic contact with our collective interests.

Right on. Here's looking forward to discovering a lot of music and about music in the '08.

listening,
mz

Very Good.

I just want to say that since I found this website I have been estatic. I can make my own station and listen to my favorite artisis at work. I love this! Keep up the great work!

Posted by: Chris D at January 7, 2008 01:49 PM

i thought the list was really good last year

i would like to know if there is a way to only listen to live recordings or only listen to studio...if not a check box or something would be nice to include or exclude them would be nice

Posted by: holycow at January 7, 2008 01:54 PM

I will be posting something similar to this in as many places a posible.

Pandora has become part of the fabric of my life, I game to it, I work to it, I do housework to it.

Now however due to the short sightedness of the UK recording industry i am no longer able to enjoy it.

And at such an exciting time too with the clasical music introduction im starting to get stations that merge even more of my tastes.

I am saddened that i only have 8 days left to enjoy this gift.

Very good for suggesting new music, terrible at letting you zero in on what you want.

My first experience: I created a station named "Bob Dylan Radio". I seeded it with about 30 Bob Dylan songs from my favorite Dylan albums. Every time it plays anything but Bob Dylan, I give it the thumbs down. How often does it play a Dylan song? 1 in 30...

My wife created a "Gillian Welsh Radio" station. It plays Gillian Welsh all the time, and it plays more Bob Dylan than my "Bob Dylan Radio" station does...

Suggestion 1: Allow users to say how far away from their seed list Pandora should stray (e.g., play a seed song ever 10th song, play a seed song every 100th song, etc.)

Suggestion: You can seed by Artist and Song, why not album? For an artist whose career spans 20+ years, many styles, etc., an album will be a better seed.

Just saw T-Bone Burnett's profile...you forgot his album re: Dorothy Stratton labled "Proof Through The Night." I'm absolutely LOVING this site! My boss is an organic farmer and he turned me onto Pandora....XM is taking a backseat! Thank You! Michelle

hey all -

to take your comments one by one:

holycow - unfortunately, there's currently no way to single out live music, but I'm passing your comment along so people here know you're asking.

demonthorn - we're with you on this - we hope to be back in the uk soon and will do everything we can to make that happen.

paul - radio licensing restrictions only allow 4 songs by any single artist withing a 3-hour period of time, so we can't make stations that only play one artist. you're absolutely right that artists with long and varied careers would be better served by album searches. I've found that song-based stations are very good, too. have you tried that yet? as for the suggestion that we let listeners determine how adventurous they want pandora to be, that's a great idea that other listeners have also expressed - hopefully we'll be able to do those kinds of things sometime in the not-too-distant future. for now, thanks for the feedback and good luck with your stations.

best,
mz

Incredible site been using it for years. All of a sudden my songs are cutting off after a minute or so. Anyone else having this problem? Have a new computer, but I doubt that is the issue. Thanks.

Posted by: Mark at January 7, 2008 07:38 PM

just something to throw out there, in case it hasn't been mentioned... specific artist/songs might be a nice optional feature...

Everyone needs a hug :)

Posted by: maxbrand at January 7, 2008 08:28 PM

Just a thought - when I get a channel really "tuned tight", I can get song after song that I've previously given a thumbs up. Which is great. But...

But sometimes I'd like it if there were a button that meant "I really like what I'm listening to - but right now I'd like to hear something fresh, maybe a little different - just not so different as to make me regret clicking the button."

Call it a "Freshen My Mix" button - a way to experiment a little, when I'm in the mood.

I received the bad news in my INBOX this morning. Pandora will be lost to me and to everyone in the UK in just 8 days. I am so upset - I can't really say how much because it would seem ridiculous and perhaps out of proportion to the loss of a website! Let me explain...

In my workplace, I sit for hours every day and read scientific papers on breast cancer, extracting data and appraising the content for quality. It's a hard job because I have to concentrate for such long periods of time and not miss anything important in what I read - this has become so much more do-able since I found Pandora - I listen to it all day - it really has become important to me and now it's going and I'm gutted. Yes, I know I could just listen to a CD but the fact that I don't know what I'm going to hear next makes it 'live' and so always new.

I have found many new artists through Pandora and have bought tracks through the link to ITunes. What a wonderful breath of fresh air this concept was. I understand the reasoning behind its closure to us in the UK and elsewhere outside of America but it's so frustratingly short-sighted and, as always in our modern world, all about MONEY. Shame on you people. Thanks to you, Tim, and all who tried so hard to make this work. I hope that one day it will all come back. With respect and best wishes.

I love Pandora! It is just perfect for me.
My question, will there ever be a wireless vesion of Pandora. Kind of like the new Sirrus hand-held. I would go nuts to be able to play Pandora anywhere!! Especially in my car!!!

Posted by: Djphil at January 8, 2008 09:40 AM

I love the Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice stations. Great idea! Requests: CW's Gossip Girl channel as well as an MTV's The Hills channel. They have great music on these shows too. Thanks for doing what you do!

The new feature artist/album feature gives a paragraph of info and there's a "More" link, but when I click on it nothing happens. How come? I rely on the expanded bio's for finding new facts.

Posted by: turbo54 at January 8, 2008 11:41 AM

I'm pretty new here and maybe I just haven't found it yet, but I'd like the ability to exclude specific artists from my station. For example: I created a station with the artist Disturbed. I soon got a song by Trapt. I personally don't like the singer from Trapt so I'd like to not hear any of their songs. If I could exclude the artist as a whole instead of song by song as they come up I think it would add a level of convenience not (apparently) available now. If I'm wrong and this is a function of the service you can totally write this off as crazy babble. Other than this I love your site so far.

The words to express may gratitude for Pandora have yet to be penned.

I had built an adaptive matrix for my music server which compares 27 parameters and learns by rejection or approval how to edit the matrix. I don't like to waste horsepower on eye candy so the GUI is simple and easy

The reality of loading the drives have proved most challenging, I have about three years worth of obscure vinyl left to transfer and fix with pro tracks, and thats transferring @ 45 rpm and fixing the file on the drive, horribly unnatural but effective and without compromise in quality.

This morning a friend showed me your site, it's already loaded, the artists are being compensated, your adaptive matrix is as good if not better than mine.

WIN WIN Thank you!

Great, I can enjoy music tailored to my esoteric tweaks and go back to being an aspiring Linux geek.

If I can help the project in any way don't hesitate to e mail. Thanks Again!

Hi all, i used to listen Pandora almos 24, but since it was turned off for the rest of the world (expet for the USA) my life is been in ruins...
I am now living in Israel and i just wnat to know if there is someone who knows when Pandora will be playing back in here. Please somebody answer me and please, PANDORA STUFF, make a huge effor, i miss you!

i noticed that the same songs are played by the same artists in the same order. i need more randomization with more variety... meaning play artist A track 3 off album 2 then artist B track 7 off album 4 this time i play the station... but next time i play the station i want to hear the same styles but dont want to start out with those same tracks in the same order. throw those tracks back into the playlist, however randomize their appearance MUCH later on in the rotation noting that while i logged on to play, i have already listened to those cuts. don't make it like a radio so much as a music database. OR... maybe give users the ability to CHOOSE 'yes' i like to hear songs repeat more often or 'no' i would not like to hear the same song again soon, please provide more depth and library.

i would like to see this site, a youtubelike video component and last.fm combine efforts to make this sort of online experience the new wave of portable artistry. screw sirius radio. help me make this my mobile- take it everywhere solution. community driven, user defined and contributed, music and video collaboration and celebration.

I just wanted to say how annoyed I am at whoever in the British music industry has made you stop UK listeners use your service. I was devistated to hear the news and wanted to thank you for all the hours of entertainment, and hundreds of new artists you've introduced me to. Its been a blast, I just hope they change there mind sometime soon...

Some things that might be interesting to discuss are local artists, regional music styles, what beyond listening to music we do with music.

Now some suggestions:
1. Make an area separate from the blog for user praise.
2. Make an area seperate from the blog for user suggestions.
3. Make an area seperate from the blog for technical problems.
4. Allow users to make stations based on attributes.

thanks for the comments -

mark - I can't be sure why that's happening. if you email pandora-support[AT]pandora.com, they will take care of you. good luck!

javier, tom - thanks for the ideas on specific artists/songs and "freshen my mix" - I've passed them over to the braintrust here.

Djphil - have you checked our homepage? you can listen to pandora in your car if you use a cell phone. more stuff like that is on the way as well, though again that's something you'd really have to ask the braintrust about...:-)

Julie - we'll look into that, thanks.

turbo54 - maybe you have popups blocked? try disabling that, and if that doesn't work, email the good folks at pandora-support[AT]pandora.com, ok?

nik - you can ban artists by giving the thumbs-down to 2 songs by that artist on one station - check out http://blog.pandora.com/faq/#82

thanks for the love carl.

cesar - we're working on it! here's hoping...

merd - I believe some folks here are working on that - I have passed along your comment so thanks! meanwhile, have you tried adding more artists or songs to the stations? that adds more music to your stations and might help you get more diversity. some stations do have smaller playlists than others.

ben, we're as sorry as you are but we're working to get back to the UK and the rest of the world... here's hoping...

and mr basmnt, thanks for the response to the post - good suggestions, though local artists begs the question of where "local" might be... as for "what beyond listening we do with music," now that sounds interesting - that sounds like a ripe topic for the blog - can you elaborate?

I love my Pandora station, and I listen to it on my whole-house audio system, for hours at a time. I realize you need to make a profit by selling, and having us view, ads, and you need to conserve bandwidth, so you have a timer that shuts off the player after a period of inactivity on the PC. If I PAY you a subscription fee to listen, will you disable the inactivity timer? I really want to use Pandora like a true radio. I assume the Squeezebox implementation doesn't shut off after some time limit, right? Let me buy an unlimited listening license.

For that matter, I'd like to use it on my Windows Mobile 6 device (Sprint Mogul/HTC PPC6800). I know Adobe has a Flash player for WM, so I am hoping you folks get it together and release a WM version of Pandora soon...that one player will include a lot of devices!

One topic I'd like to see covered in the 2008 blogs is personal music histories. I'd love to find out how other people's musical tastes and listening styles evolved. I'm fascinated when I look back at my own history and wonder what other people's histories are like.

Posted by: Tony at January 10, 2008 07:00 AM

My impression is that Pandora just chooses one of your seed songs and then generates a "set" based on that song. What I want it to do is take all my seed songs and figure out what they have in common, and weight those attributes more heavily when choosing songs. It could still explore the space around particular seed songs, but it wouldn't explore in directions that are antithetical to the seed list.

For example, suppose I seed a station with 30 songs, which vary wildly but all have funk roots. I think the resulting mix should all have funk roots. Or if I seed with all male vocalists, I should hear male vocalists. The longer my seed list, the stronger this effect should be. Note that this would also address the above-mentioned live vs. studio, assuming those are attributes tracked by the genome project.

Closely related would be to identify the things that the thumbs-down songs for a station have in common, and avoid them. This would presumably help with the "I can't get this station to quit playing country" phenomenon.

Are thumbs-up songs treated differently from seeds? When I start out with one song and just thumbs-up things I like, I find that the station tends to start out with my thumbs-up songs every time I tune to it. If I take those songs and add them as seeds, I seem to avoid this problem. I've taken to avoiding thumbs-up and adding the song as a seed instead.

Posted by: David at January 10, 2008 09:26 AM

hey steve and david - I've sent your questions over to our support folks, as they are the specialists in those areas. thanks!

tony - we talked a little bit about peoples' musical histories last year, and it's definitely something I want to continue - I'm interested in investigating what is happening when a song I used to like or even love seems to have lost its luster; and how tastes and judgments about music evolve, devolve, or just mutate as time goes on. thanks for the suggestion!

As for suggestions I have a few that would make life a WHOLE lot easier for a Pandora fan. :o)

1) Allow me to recommend a whole album to my station inside of just 1 song or 1 artist.
2) Allow me to go to an artist's page, select an album and thumb-up any song I want. Entering songs by typing them out and searching is getting really tiresome. And I am lazy :-(
3) I also wish I could influence my Pandora player to play newer music vs older music. My player seems to play new singles a lot later compared to my Yahoo LaunchCast player. (Yes I double dip. Please don't hate me :-) I often listen to new music on Launchcast then copy/paste the song title into my pandora player.
4) To add additional info to the "adventurous" feature. I would like a way to influence how much "recommended" music I hear in a hour vs music I have already thumbed-up. Currently my player seems to play recommended songs less than 10% of the time.
4a) I also notice that my player has a high rate of playing songs I have heard recently over the past few days. I am timid to skip them because I know I only can skip or "snooze" a song a few times in a hour. So I am stuck listening to a song I recently heard. So the feature I am requesting here would allow me to control how often I hear a song. So for example I would say on my station I want to only hear songs I have not heard within the last 2-3 days.
5) Stats counter: I would love to see how many songs I have thumbed-up AND how many hours/days/years I have listened to Pandora. These stats would also help me choose another user's station besides looking at their profile.
6) The song/artist search for adding music to your station could use some enhancement. Some song names are very short or common and will return a lot of results. I would like the ability to search for song AND artist in the same search . This will allow the search function the ability to narrow down the results list.

I am sure I have more ideas for Pandora. But I need to get back to work :-) Thank you for listening to us.

Music Feedback

Here is a thought. Include an option to rate a song that is "thumbs up" with a rating such as 1-5 or one star to five stars. Then there can be greater discrimination in the feedback process for songs that are liked. It should be an optional feedback after showing that a song is liked (without a rating).

Posted by: Steven Green at January 10, 2008 10:12 PM

Goodbye Pandora, we in the UK will miss you. Come back asap, don't let the idiots win!!!!!!!!

This site has been a revelation for me, so much music, not one ad and not one opinionated boorish DJ . Wish you all the best for the future.

May your metal section continue to floorish and your dub give pleasure to the whole of the world in the future.

Posted by: Andrew Green at January 11, 2008 01:58 AM

I really enjoy the site since a friend told me about it a couple weeks ago. I wondered if there was a consideration within the genome project for filtering profanity. There are some artists that I really like, but am selective of their songs because I try to avoid profane lyrics. Is that something that you do/have/are planning to incorporate into the genome project? There are songs I like in regard to musical characteristics, but put a "thumbs down" on it because of the language. I don't want to exclude artists I like just because the first song played by that artist on Pandora has lyrics I would prefer not to hear.

I recently discovered the Pandora experience. An excellent project. Soca, Calypso and steel pan would add to the flavor of the musical stew, creating a truly unique musical hot spot.

Please, please, please offer access to higher bit rate encoded streams for a monthly access charge. I and many many many of my friends and associates would be very happy to pay you guys up to $35/month for the service at 256k+. Its a constant frustration and source of discussion amongst us, and having heard that you have recently been experimenting with 64kAAC, i want to strongly implore you to consider moving in the other direction. I think you will be surprised how many of your users would pay good money for a reasonably high quality stream, and how many of them you would lose if you reduced from your presently 'acceptable' bit rate.

thanks

From the UK. The "traditional music industry" has long been doomed, but I guess they made so much money in the past they can afford to squeeze the last drops of blood out of it before they retire. I can't believe they are simply stupid. But how much money have they lost and wasted since the internet csme of age? I will never pay out for rights managed music, or music in proprietary formats. I would be spending a small fortune on music if someone would sell it to me as MP3, but until then I will continue to find other ways to access my music and I will spend my money on wine and chocolate. No worries Pandora - you will be back.

those of you with tech questions, I invite you to send those to pandora-support@pandora[DOT]com. as for the UK and international blocking, we're as sad about it as you are, and we'll be working to get back to those places as soon as we can.

as for the higher bit rate suggestion, dan, that's very interesting and I've sent it along to the tech folks. please stay tuned.

and last but not least, holly there is a way to block profanity from your stations - email pandora-support@pandora{DOT}com and they will help you do that!

Pandora is a beautiful site . I dont have any ideas to improve Pandora . Its hard to improve on anything so near perfect. Thanks to all of you who have made this site the ONLY place we get our music in our home . For the listeners in the UK I am sorry , and I hope you get Pandora back . I have learned a lot about the artist from Pandora and learned of many artist I had never heard , and they are all good . Thanks guys . jaye

Ah Pandora! Today is my last day to enjoy your company. You have been an excellent companion during those boring hours at work and at home. I have discovered so many new artists over the past two years that I never would have been exposed to without your suggestions. However shall I live without my personal DJ! You shall be sorely missed here in the UK :0(

Well done to the team - Pandora is no.1 in my books! I'll keep on checking until you come back to me (darn the UK music industry regulators). Miss you already...

To elaborate, for local artists I meant that whoever posts would talk about and suggest music/musicians in their area that may not be known else where but are definately worth a listen.

For "music beyond listening" I'm not even quite sure what I meant.

It would be nice to have a place to give feedback about the music "auto-chosen" in the stations I create at pandora.

for instance I personally am dying to tell someone, anyone how can do something about it, that I really don't like all the live music and all the B-Sides that are played. A few are ok, but it's a bit ridiculous. It get's the artists right, but almost never plays a hit.

Posted by: texxs at January 16, 2008 10:20 AM

There is an gospel artist named BB Jay (Born Javis Edward Cooper), who is an American Christian rapper from Brooklyn, NY famously noted for his vocal similarity to late hip-hop legend The Notorious B.I.G. the probles is I can't find any of his work on the site. Is it possiple that his work has not been added yet?

Posted by: Anthony Wms. at January 17, 2008 01:01 PM

A few suggestions:
1) For tracks that come from compilations, make sure the artist listed in the player GUI is the actual musician rather than the compiler/mixer/DJ. It might be labor intensive for you to go back through your entire database and make the changes, though.

2) Similarly, on the music page for a compilation, where the entire track listing is displayed (plus a preview link) list each artist next to or below the song title. It's tiresome to have to click on the song title to load the song page that shows the artist name.

3) Also, the search function seems to miss a lot when the only available track is a remix. For example, if I type the original song name I get nothing, but if I stumble across the remix name (remixer in parenthesis) in the album track listing page, and then copy and paste that into the search field, I'll get a hit.

4) On the My Profile page, I'd like the ability to quickly consolidate the seeds and thumbs-up tracks into one sortable list so that I can print it out and take it to a music store, or use it when I purchase downloadable tracks (i.e. beatport.com). (Again, having the original artist for a comp song would be beneficial because in a compiled list, I'd see a group of songs by an artist rather than the same compiler.) Currently I have to tediously copy and paste the separate lists into another text document. That process is made worse by the fact that profile page only starts with partial lists that take a long time to fully load. The re-sorting options are slow, too.

While I LOVE this new musical outlet, I just MUST express a little disappointment at the frequency with which most of the music just cuts off in the middle of the song. I believe it's the pop up advertising on the site that is interferring with the stream of music. Does this happen to anyone else??

Posted by: Maya B at January 18, 2008 08:37 AM

Hey, I was just introduced to this radio a couple days ago and I'm very addicted. I've been introduced to so much new music. In some genre's I've been very impressed with the variety, e.g Mexican folkloric music. However, there are is one very shocking hole I noticed in the genome. No middle-eastern music at all it seems. I typed in Alabina and Amr Diab and nothing came up. These are both really well-known artists. Anyways, if the station had Arab and Persian music then I would say it was perfect.
Thanks!

I like Pandora well enough that I went out and bought a Squeezebox so I could listen in my living room. It's a great match.
One thing, though - I now don't have a way to save the tracks that I've "thumbs upped" to. I wonder if there might be a way to get that info in my account, or even as an email (say, weekly). Either way, be sure to add click-through purchase links so you get something out of the deal (I've gone back to buying music after a hiatus of many years - using riaawatch to avoid riaa music, btw). And, if you do add the email option, be sure, of course, to make it "double opt-in".
Thanks!

Posted by: Bob Koure at January 18, 2008 01:38 PM

One other thing I'd really like:
A way to say "music like this artist - but don't play anything by this artist".

Posted by: Bob Koure at January 18, 2008 01:42 PM

I just read someone has been using Pandora for years - I just discovered it last week and can't believe I never heard of it.
I am sure that after getting over the intital delight in the fact that I can listen to a zillion different kinds of music I will have questions - but for now it is simply wonderful. I've also bought more music in the last week than in the last year.
If I can figure out how to work it in the car I will cancel my xm radio!

Sometimes I'll just catch the end of a song I think I'd really like, but I've just missed it. Is there a possible way to back up just one song so we could hear the whole thing?

Posted by: Anita Wilkerson at January 20, 2008 11:56 AM

I have a couple of suggestions, although I love the way things come together if you're willing to listen to and rate a lot of music.

First, if you thumb up a song it would handy to have a way to seed it without having to search for it. A button or checkbox on the station page would make that easy.

Second, is there a way to suggest or request a particular album by an artist? One of my favorite albums ever is missing, even though there are 6 or 8 by the artist listed here.

Thanks for providing such a fantastic service. I hope that you can return to sharing with the world soon. In the meantime, I'll be listening.

Posted by: legbamel at January 21, 2008 01:42 PM

Is there any Ol' Schoolers out there, who still love Ol' School Jams? Such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Bootsie Collins, Gerald Levert, Barry White. The list goes on. If so, send me some suggestions or a link to: JCZgirl[AT]fuse.net or send me something at my pandora radio site.

And let's not forget, even though they are not ol school, Jamie Foxx, Usher, Beyounce, Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston.

Thanks

I find more often then not not only are my favorite artist not played most of the music that is played are songs by artist I have never heard of.
Why doesn't Pandora focus on the hit's and artist we grew up with?

Just discovered Pandora recently and really enjoy it! I'd like to offer the suggestion to include an easier way to share a station with a bookmarked friend, like a second slide-out with each bookmarked friend listed or something other than having to enter the email address (many of which I'd have to go look up) and having to do it in a second window. Other than that, this site rocks. Thanks!

I have another topic for discussion in 2008, though you might have covered it already. Here goes:
If you were in a movie, what would be your theme music be? What song would they play every time you came on screen?

not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I would like to suggest an album be added to the pandora archives and don't know how to do that... anyway, the album is "Infinite" by Eminem. If there is a better place to direct this please let me know.

You never play what I ask for, only similarities. Today I asked for John Denver and got every one but him. So I will stop wasting my time with you because there ARE others. Anna Layne.

How could we support underground/independent artist more as a community.

Posted by: Valorie at January 24, 2008 07:45 AM

I'd like to hear more of the artist I specified. For instance - if I choose Sting, I'd like to hear LOTS of Sting along with similar artists. I'd also like a way to choose more acoustic versions and live versions, or more electric or jazz. For instance, I put in Joni Mitchell and ended up with lots of 1960's folk music, which was fine, but I was expecting more of her later jazz-inspired music...
Thanks for this GREAT web site. I am really enjoying the music!

I think Celtic music would make a nice sub-genre...

while listening 2 pandora for some reson some songs start and skip to the next song something needs 2 be done about that

I like listening to music on Pandora, but I agree that somehow the "seed" need some additional tweaking. For examp[le, I created a "gospel" station and seeded it with ALL gospel songs. The station continues to pick out non-gospel songs. While the songs played are good, that's not what I created the station for. Someone mentioned seeding the station with an album. What about a "keyword" also. If I could identify the "keyword" "gospel" with my station, then that would seem to be a part of the genome.

Multiple standard keywords that the user could select to further refine what is wanted seems to be a solution to help everyone ensure that the stations they create would play only the music they want to hear, with less "thumbs down". Even with "thumbs down" it took a long time on my "gospel" station to stop the playing of other types of music, and some still are played.

I know I have the option of moving songs played to another station, but that too can be time consuming when all I want to do is relax and enjoy the music.

Keep up the good work!

I just discovered this site. I am enjoying it so much! Great job!

I agree with some of these comments. I would really like to see more music from around the world. Even Indonesian Speed Metal or that sort of stuff. I am currently listening to Philip Glass and composers like him, and I love this program. But, I couldn't find much variety outside of Western music styles. Good luck and thank you.

Words can't describe how much I enjoy and appreciate Pandora. I'm not a music superfreak, but I know what I like, and now I can enjoy it all the time, without the ridiculous cost!! Thank you Pandora. I'm passing the word, as fast as I can. Thanks

I cant get enough you guys. Two years going strong, I really think you guys are close to perfect. Thats a serious compliment coming from a man that beieves nothing is perfect. But check it out. I sport my Pandora cap and because I look so good in it I get some people mostly women asking me "What is Pandora?" I recruit that like that. Thats okay you dont have to pay me any commision. LOL Anyway, I think a thread page for listeners would be very cool. Also for our profiles a place to upload a photo or design a membership card that express us . Like they have on the web site for Zune.

love your site. after two weeks I thought, Great I'm gonna go broke to itunes now. After two years of listening I can't seem to get ahead of the new music I've been exposed to. I had one quick question however, any plans on getting pandora on ipod touch??? I'm sure apple would hate it.

Love the site and promote it as much as I can. One thing that would be amazing is if your site develops a persian station. It would add diversity and I am sure many will utilize it to its full potential. Keep up the good work!!

Two wish items:

1. a toggle for Instrumental only (or perhaps more generally a filter on instruments used in the song with "voice" being only one of many)

2. Pandora for WM6 on HTC 75xx devices. The existing WM6 PPC cab plays fine but its graphics are screwy.

(I listen to Pandora on my HTC 7510x plugged into the car stereo while commuting 50 miles across Denver. It is like user-tailored XM!)
