Not strictly about the post, but I couldn't find anywhere else to put this...
As a listener from the UK, I'm sorry to hear that the Internet Radio Nazis have brought yet another US station to their knees with their escalating charges for international royalties.
I've already seen at least two other station go the same way - small stations run out of people's homes, I might add, that couldn't hope to pay the extortionate rates - and I have to say I am weeping right now for the US constitution's beloved tenets regarding "freedom of speech" being run roughshod over by the growing corporate presence in cyberspace... but I digress.
The reason I'm posting here is to say a huge THANK YOU!!! to everyone at Pandora and the Music Genome Project.
As a musician myself, I've used Pandora as a source of inspiration for several projects - I just tap in the name of a band that sounds close to the sound I'm thinking of, and I can hear more variations on the theme, which helps me disseminate what to keep and what can be changed, as well as givng me endless ideas about *how* to change it to fit my own style.
Also, as a mostly self-taught guitarist who initially skipped most of the theory but is now seeking to better himself, Kevin Seal's podcasts have taught me some invaluable techniques as well as reminding me of (and clearly explaining) some of the basics that most musicians take for granted. In fact, with the 'casts I have stored on my hard-drive, I'm able to teach some of my less-enlightened colleagues a few things on subjects like vocals, rhythm and styles by just sitting them down in front of Kevin and his guests!
I didn't want this to turn into an essay, but I just had to acknowledge the huge musical debt I owe to you guys at Pandora and the MGP before you're gone from my life forever...!

Oakland, California? February 5th, which is my 21st Birthday, is also Super Tuesday when California has its primary elections. Shouldn't this date be moved back or forward a few days? Just a thought.

I'd like to second Keith's post. Dear Pandora, I am really going to miss you. Music industry copyright controllers have near destroyed their legacy business, and continue to so do. I've probably spent more cash buying legit downloads prompted by Pandora in the past couple of years than I'd spent in the previous decade. Here's hoping that sense will prevail and other business models - like the info business - that have adapted profitably to the new web model will finally influence the music industry.

I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this, but I need to report a minor song glitch and am not exactly sure who to contact. FYI, "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" by Lauryn Hill always skips in the middle of the song--you may want to take a look at it or re-download it to into the Pandora server system. (Feel free to delete this post once you've taken care of the issue!)
And as long as I'm contacting the head honchos at Pandora, I just wanted to say thank you for creating this awesome system of music! I listen to Pandora all day long at work, and it's introduced me to so many wonderful artists that I wouldn't have known about otherwise. Last month I also saw the feature articule in Inc. Magazine about Tim and the rest of the Pandora crew. Thank you for all of your hard work in putting this together, analyzing every song, and spreading around so much great music!!
