Play Listen Repeat Vol. 27

Greetings listeners!
The holidays are well over now, and as we get going with the new year, I thought it would be interesting to glance back and find out what music you encountered, received, or gave people over the holidays.
Call it "gift music."
Do tell!
cheers,
mz

"Slobberbone" all the way! How did those guys ever escape me? Also, the soundtrack for Dylan's "Masked & Anonymous." Hearing Articolo 31's cover of "Like a Rolling Stone" was as revolutionary as hearing Jimi take over "All Along the Watchtower" 35 years ago.
Fine stuff!

I was given Flight Of The Conchords who are a cheery novelty music act from New Zealand. And I bought Gentry Bronsons No War album because I love the song 'Ill never forget your face'

My wife and I went on a roadtrip from California to St. Louis, up the Mississippi, to St. Paul. My wife brought her collection of retail CDs and I brought my burned CD comps of made up of songs I heard over the past year on Pandora and downloaded from beatport.com.
Probably my favorite CD ended up being my wife's copy of Queen's Highlander soundtrack. What an awful film but what a great soundtrack. I never tired of it.
My wife also had a new compilation of Xmas songs covered by artists from the last 2-3 decades. The name escapes me but it had Sarah MacLaughlin and Steve Nicks. Some of it was okay, but MacLaughlin turned the Peanuts' Xmas song into a dirge, and I couldn't stand Nicks' warbly voice.
From my comps, I looked forward to hearing Liquid by the Dignity of Labour, Flamboyant by the Pet Shop Boys, songs by Echo Image, Order of Death by P.I.L. (Hardware soundtrack), As the Rush Comes (Sweeping Strings remix) by Motorcycle, and Lift Me Up by Moby.

Congratulations on your very well chosen name -"Pandora"! Your box contains really only mediocre
quality music, despite starting with ...Bhrams, you said?!!
What about our National Anthem song? Couldn't make your Pandora box play it because does not belong there, isn't so?!!! It is not a disease or a curse! L.
