I'm just wondering what qualifies your reviewers. They seem to be missing some amazing and interesting facts about the artists, the genre's and the history of music itself. Also, the project overall seems lacking in the latter (the missing Aaron Copland; there is very little ELP w/o him).

hi Justin - thanks for the comments. Our analysts are all trained musicians. They typically have a 4-year music degree, and are all practicing musicians.
Can you say more about what's missing. Do you mean musical elements, or actual data about the music? We're always looking for ways to improve the service and are all ears... FYI, we analyze most songs along close to 400 distinct musical attributes...
Cheers. Tim (Founder)

I found this site a while ago and decided to join. It is one of the most pleasurable things I have done recently. The variety of music is great and the selections are just what one needs after a full day. Keep up the wonderful work!

If you're ever really up for a challenge, try to categorize Hardanger Fiddle Music. Minnesota is a hotbed of it, and I have not been able to figure it out. The rhythms have a heart murmer quality to them.

I am from MN and wasn't familiar with some of these recommendations on the comments post. Pandora not only has great tunes but also has a resourceful comments section!

You should check out a Dan Newton show next time you pass through the Twin Cities. He also plays in a band called Cafe Accordion Orchestra. I know accordion music isn't everyone's cup of tea, but give it a shot and I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the upbeat tempo and generally fun spirit that Dan portrays through his music. I was never into folky style music, but he has pushed me beyond my typical music genres, and for that I thank him.

Graham-I am about 30 minutes from Mpls, MN.
I will definitely check it out....thanks for the recommendation!

Just found your site, this project sounds really intering! ANY CHANCE you guys are coming back to Minnesota? There's some rockin' music festivals, local bands, and some genre in the northern part of the state that might just surprise you!

I love this site. I listen everyday all day at work while im on the computer. I think that you should add alot more music like shaggy, and sean paul. I have got like 30 people interstead in this site.

I know you guys have already visited MN, but I thought I'd give a couple suggestions anyway, just in case. Check out Lights Out Dancing and Take Cover. A couple other great local bands/singers are Brandon Scott Sellner and The Evermore Escape (who won the state-wide battle of the bands)
Love the site, heard about it from a friend- been in love ever since. I think my iTunes is jealous :]
