Hi Tim,

Since you have set out to capture the essence of music at the most fundamental level by assembling hundreds of musical genes into a very large Music Genome, perhaps you can capture the unique and magical musical identity of, not only a song, but of the individual persons who listen to pandora. I think it'd be cool to see what my musical identity looks like.

What do you think?

when i heard the first sample of Stan Kenton's music, it was great. However, when i selected music from duke ellington and Harry James, the music kept starting and stopping making it impossible to listen to.

i will try a couple more numbers, before i quit using Pandora.

would appreciate your comments on why the problem exists. thank you.

Hi, Tim!
Thanks for coming out to speak with listeners here in St Louis. For months, I've been involved in the campaign to stop the CRB royalties from killing internet radio. The meet-up was very informative and interesting. You're a very good, personable, and funny speaker.

I'm glad to be a member of such a passionate, dedicated, and intelligent group of music enthusiasts! Keep on doing what you're doing, and we'll keep up the support! Thanks for making my life more musical again.
Best to you and your team.

(P.S. I was the woman with the red "feathers" of hair who enthusiastically thanked you as I left the auditorium. My passion will never die!)

I'd have to say the most infuential band that I have ever heard is Korn. If you've heard they're song "Y'all Wanna Single" then you know what I mean. Korn struck back against the music industry's pop mentality. Biting the hand that feeds them, yet igniting a horde of new, original music. (probably broken up by now, not really sure) I'm frustrated with the music industry's centering around Top 40 as well. You don't have to listen to Johnathon Davis screaming into the mike to realize that the music industry is attampting to control what we listen to, which is exactly why the latest songs seem to prosper more than the original (living or dead) artists that started it all. I'm not asking you to turn your back on pop and Top 40, I'm only asking you to become more open-minded and explore new music that you probably would have never even dreamed of hearing. There's a lot more out there than what the music industry is spoon-feeding us, and it's your job find it. I would like to personally thank Pandora Radio for treating every category of music, from jazz to rock to pop to classical, with equal awareness and mentality. Thank You.

Mike,

Nice idea but in some respects, I guess the user profiles are a bit of an attestment to that, especially since so many of us are beautifully eclectic in our musical appetites. I'm fairly certain I couldn't be thrown into a box and love that. However, it'd be cool to see what habits of late are characterized by - for example, what fraction of my music addiction has been geared towards minor key tonality this week?

Tim: We've already had a great private e-mail correspondence. I want to publicly thank you for being a company CEO (or President or whatever) who takes the time to have these meetings -- and to respond personally to customer email. And it's very exciting to see the FaceBook integration so soon -- an idea I had and conveyed at the St. Louis meet-up (I'm sure many others did as well).

Long live Pandora!

Good Morning Tim,

This is my first time writing but I've been listening for about 1 month! OUTSTANDING!!! I just learned about a fabulous young lady by the name of Danita Mumphard. This past summer I was blessed to attend a luncheon and she was one of the outstanding talents there. She reminded me of a female version of Mr. Gregory Abbott. I saw her talent on showcase 10/27/2007, here in St. Louis at the History Museum with Tre' Bien Jazz trio. Guess what Tim, two of them were her uncles. I'm excited because I love music and this young lady has it. I'll tune in soon to see if you've picked up her unique and distinct vocal ability via music.
