Miami, FL Recap!

First chance to have a meeting with folks post royalty board ruling. Great to see how energized people are about this issue. Very heartening for us as we enter what is likely to be a long and difficult fight to reverse this ruling. It's clear that the grassroots support of listeners is going to be critical.

Thanks to Esther for being such a great Hostess at her stunning modern art museum. Every community needs one of those.

People arrived to a sound/light installation art piece that Esther has in the space. Really cool visuals.

Very diverse group of people, which I always love. Comments about hip hop stations, classic rock, and Taylor Hicks... It was also nice to have bunch of fellow pandorans in attendance who were in Miami - Cheryl, Jack, and Jen, thanks for stopping by.

Thanks to those who gave some videotaped testimonials after the discussion. Really appreciate your willingness to go on camera.

Headed out of town the next day for San Diego...

ha! I can see the back of my head.

Tim it was great to meet you and hear more about the nuts and bolts of Pandora. Internet radio is here to stay and we'll take the fight all the way to Washington, the Pacific, Alaska, HI, and Puerto Rico! We're not going back to the age of middle men and bureaucratic mismanagement of musicians.

Pandora is especially critical to the success of musicians and fans, why would we go back to a situation where that win-win-win balance is skewed?

Regulators are out of touch, unimaginative and unresponsive, we need to make them listen!

had a great time at the meetup. Not a day goes by that I don't go to Pandora!

Lucia et Tim
just bought such a slimdevice squeezebox plus signed up for pandorra.
do you have an idea why i am forced to updated firmware everytime i change from the slimserver mode to the squeeze-network (pandorra) mode?
slimserver requires v7.2, pandorra requires v8.2.
and even worse I have to everytime re-enter the entire network settings (WEP-key etc.)

The democratization of music depends on the internet, it is vital to our health as a global culture. It's like the oxygen we breath, as essential to life and pH fitness is.

I read some stuff on these new rules and it seems unfair to online radio listeners. Looks like we all have a big mother of a war to rage to insure internet radio lives on forever.

I just started listening to Pandora yesterday. I saw a co-worker listening to Pandora on his computer and I immediately tried it out. I normally down load music on my Palm and take to work to listen, but I loved Pandora and think for work and home it's my better choice and hassle free. Keep up the great work.

I'm trying to find a copy of a song by Danny Kaye called, "Mommy, I want a drink of water." Does anyone know where I find a copy?

Are those international flags I see all over the screen in the first picture? I hope not in view of today's letter warning from Tim to block Pandora to foreign countries, otherwise someone has a very strange sense of humor and is also sadistic.

Hey, I'm extremely depressed because of this absurd and ridiculous policies they are trying to put into this fantastic project. I'm from Costa Rica and I really enjoy the tremendous quantity of singers I achieved to know. I'm a singer and this project means more than listening music on leisure. I learned about A HUGE experience they got for too many years. Because of Pandora, I could know Anita Baker, great sucesses of Edith Piaf, Josh Stone, Alice Peacock, Paul Anca, James Ingram, Lionel Richie, Allan Price, Tony Benett and much more. You guys are doing a GREAT JOB to improve on growing up our culture through the music you have provided as of yet.
With all due respect and sincerely, it is not fair at all. We got yahoo, we got google, we got terra and aol...... why can't we got PANDORA!!!???

Regards!

Juan.

Hi everyone,

It was really great to meet you and hear all about the project. I'm such an evangelist for Pandora...I've even been wearing my black Pandora cap to spread the word. Of course I called my congresspeople regarding the new bills before the House and Senate.

Best of luck with everything. With such great organization, the SaveNetRadio grassroots movement is sure to make an impact. Let's all hope it's big enough!

Miami has newly arrived groups from Cuba. They are playing music that has one of the richest histories of any on the planet, but transformed into the 21st century. They are playing it in their own way, not diritive or influenced by U.S. trends. the music is hot and vibrant and original. May groups have only CD's they sell at clubs. They have little big time exposure. It may be hard to seek them out but it is worth it.

Great station. Thanks. Suggestion - Is is possible to mix two or three genres into one station? For example, playing Scott Joplin is fun, but your program is a little too narrow, playing one style, and it seems like an endless show of one pianist. How about the ability to mix classical, brass, Joplin within a certain range. Is that too complex? That's what any multi-disc CD player or Ipod will do. Happy wanderings. David

A friend in Vermont clued me into Pandora several years ago and I have referred it to dozens since then. I love it! The only suggestion I have is that since I have it playing all day at work with no interaction, it shuts down on me several times. Can you program it to play at least 9 hours before pausing so those at work have no interruptions in service?

Hi, I found this site just by accident. I like it very much. As you can see my name is Pandora.
Why did you name your site Pandora. Do you know a Pandora. I love the way I can mix the music. Thanks again for a great site. Pandora

New format started today (?) doesn't let you see if you entered "Like" or "Don't Like" for a song. Why has that been deleted? I usually listen most of the day, but I don't sit by my laptop all day, so when I come back from a meeting, etc. I have to go through all songs because I don't know which song I checked last.

I love Pandora...........Just emailed about a dozen or so of my relatives and friends to share the love.

I'm still trying to figure out and understand pandora. I'll like to be able to delete some of my radio station, and it doesn't give me any other option but Just thumbs up or down. And I'm not sure how the thumbs work? Is it some thing I'm missing??
