Hey Tim, I have been writing lyrics for about a year and a half now, mostly blues, but some funny stuff as well, that is probably more suited to Country music, even though I'm not a Country music fan. I get a lot of inspiration from other peoples lyrics and since you mentioned Tom Waits, he has a few of my favorites: colder than a well diggers ass, and: the piano has been drinking...as well as "Step Right Up" being one of my favorite songs. Tim had a great time at the meetup thanks for taking the time to visit with us and take our questions.
I know there was someone taking some pictures and would love to have some to put on my blog to talk about the event. If you know where I might find those or if anyone knows let me know.
Thanks again
Jeff

"They hate you if you're witty and they despise a fool" - John Lennon
For the most part, I'm on the other end of the spectrum from JL, but I've quoted these words since high school.
Yes's "Roundabout" (sp?) has uplifting lyrics, meaningless as far as I can tell, but uplifting.
Up From The Skies from Jimi Hendrix's Axis Bold as Love deserves a little independent movie.
The Song is Over from the Who's Who's Next. I almost never get tired of that one.
The End of the World by...uh...what's her name from 1964ish. It hit me as a child with a haunting ache a child shouldn't experience.

Hank Dogs -- "18 Dogs"
"I'll take the greatest of pleasure in watching you torn limb from limb"
Piano's dispassionate delivery of this challenge to wayward strangers always give me chill.

It was good to see some of the other folks who use Pandora here in KC. And to hear some other ways people are getting the music they want to hear out of Pandora.
Keep adding the music
Nice job Tim and the rest of you working there.

have you heard the band "Hurry Sundown"? We have had the chance to meet them through one of their relatives, and they are AWESOME! They were a local band out of Springfield Missouri. We purchased one of their cd's at a club they were playing at over two years ago. We since have moved out of the area and have lost touch with them and would like to know if anyone else has heard their music.I will find their web site address and post it when I get the time (28 yr. old mother of 4 and college student) Thanks, Wendy

Thanks again for coming to KC to share your plans for Pandora w/us. It was a very fun & engaging event.
On another note, congratulations for getting Pandora up & running on a wireless network! I just started listening to Pandora on my Sprint phone & am amazed by the audio quality. I had been considering purchasing an mp3 player but this may make that unnecessary. Thank you!

I love Pandora!! I have been listening for the longest time. I attended this night and I found it was a lot of fun. I have been to the ones that followed too. But I found that this one was the best of them all. I met a lot of people that shared my passion about movies and loved Pandora as much as I do. I made a lot of good friendships that have continued to this day. I have been having a hard time finding out about other gatherings of late. I am hoping that they are still going on. I do miss the good times that I have had at all the ones that I have attended. So are there more going on somewhere? And if so, how do I find out about them? You should have an up to date website. It would help me out for sure.

The name Pandora is fitting and proper. Once you open this site you will surely be enlightened because the truth about the world will surely be exposed before you.

Pandora is my daily company, everytime i logg in I enjoy it so much, it's totally rad!!! i am not from the usa and when i joined pandora a couple of years ago i could enjoy it in my country Ecuador, but last year i got a sad message that said that because copyrights issues pandora wasn't able to be played in computers outside the us.. Now i am living in the USA.
It is terrible that after years of dreaming about borders deleted through good uses of technologies, music and art, now borders are becoming even more estrict in all senses. Wish that copyrights legislation will be more open and that this internet wonders like pandora will reach more people!!
