Although I don't like it when an artist I want to hear is not known by Pandora, it does give me hope when I get the message indicating you are intersted in new music and will check the artist out. I have faith you are serious about this.
However, most times when Pandora can't find the artist it suggests either alternate artists or songs which are close to the name I gave and so doesn't know that I am interested in an artist which is not in the Pandora database. I would like to be able to say "No, this is not the same artist, go check out this artist", but this option isn't available. I'm afraid there are a lot of artist you will not found out about because you don't give me the opportunity to tell you when a search is a failure becuase you don't have the artist.
So here is a representative list of artists in the Goatrance or Psytrance genre missing frm Pandora that you should check out: Abstrakta Araber, Analog Pussy, Asura, Ayahuasca, Ceiba, Cosmosis, Cydonia, Green Nuns Of The Revolution, Hallucinogen, Fractal Glider, Goa Gil, Jaia, Logic Bomb, Psysex, Shakatura, S.U.N. Project, Voodoo People and X-Dream.

Oh, I see, it's not on the blog page - you need to hit "Main" in order to see the list. Just FYI.

Very cool concept!
Thank you for the commercial free music.
I would very much like some classical and opera music choices(besides holiday music).
I am looking forward to exploring and creating stations and finding good new and established artists.

Not quite sure how you do it but Pandora is the best thing since the invention of the automatic bread slicer, thanks much.

Hey,
Been listening for about a month, ever since the guy who hosts the podcast Mad Money Machine (www.madmoneymachine.com) raved about you. I love this website and I've told several friends and they all love it too. Everyone at work is on Pandora. thanks!
Oh, I missed ya'll in Houston and Austin. Let me know when you come back!
Posted by: Aisha at August 18, 2006 11:35 AM
Okidokee... This is the coolest new thing... All my friends love it. How do we keep this around forever?
Posted by: Ken at August 18, 2006 01:42 PM
Absolutely Fabulous. I'm in a building that a radio can not tune into, my friend recommended this site. IT"S GREAT!!! Panama City Beach, FL
Posted by: charity at August 18, 2006 03:00 PM
When you change from one station to another if you had a song paused you lose it, it just skips to the next when you come back. It would be nice if you could change that.

pandora is soo cool.. very useful i must say.. great for finding out about new music... ever think about expanding to include music in other languages(e.g. korean, mandarin, japanese)?
Posted by: Vania at August 19, 2006 08:55 AM
I think this is great radio. I haven't heard a song I didnt like and as soon as i can squeeze it out of my budget I am going to buy commercial free. WAAAy better than live 365. If your ever around St.Louis MO or Quincy IL or Branson, MO. let us know!! We will bring a handful of musicians and hang out, helpout, ROCK out!!
Posted by: Danni at August 19, 2006 02:32 PM
Great bands I've never heard about!
Posted by: Ricardo at August 19, 2006 08:26 PM
First, I'd liek to say that you guys need to come over to canada and get some local bands around canada sometime!
Anyway, I'd like to request that users be able to see all of the attributes a song has, and not just the top couple, if they wish. I'm really into music myself, and like more controll over what I'm making my station sound like, I've messed a couple since I liked a song because of it's sound and stuff, and I didn't realize with other attributes I'd be adding, but sometimes they changed the station to something I didn't want..
I'm just asking for more advanced access on the part of the listener, for those who are willing to hand craft their stations and stuff.

Glad to hear you're coming to VA. A quick thought. The wonderful thing about a lot of oldschool games, is you can turn off the music and listen to pandora.com as the game music instead. Vastly superior, with some surprising results. If this were a feature of modern games, instead of the same few tracks over and over, it would be a good thing. Completely customizable game music. The pandora plugin.

Tim, You Guys are flippin' Genius'. The first breath of fresh air in ages on the world wide wasteland! I've got 5500 mp3s now gathering dust while I roll through cool new tunes. Been busy talkin'ya up @stumble.com
Keep tweaking the input area so it does'nt drag me to bizarroland when your search engine does'nt recognize my suggestion.I'd like to have a bit more control in telling the engine about new artist not in your database...I know blah blah blah. Anyway thanx Guys!
Posted by: GravityStormz at August 20, 2006 10:49 PM
Just a quick one, is there by any chance to check how long have i been a member of pandora.com? I have been enjoying it so much that i forgotten when i registered as a member! :)
Posted by: ranvier at August 21, 2006 12:32 AM
I second "Vania" feedback. Although it would be double the workload or even triple it, i believe the result efforts of having more varieties other than 1 language would make pandora peerless. :)
Posted by: ranvier at August 21, 2006 02:14 AM
I discovered Pandora over the weekend and have been playing with it continuously. Very impressive. I love the collection of classic jazz and I know what you mean concerning classical music when you say you're "Trying to figure out how to tackle that animal". I have copied most of my classical music to disc and since most classical CD's are compilations of more than one LP it can be a nightmare. A great site.
Posted by: Jeffrey at August 21, 2006 03:08 AM
Hi, as a listener and creator of music ranging from ratpack to classical to folk to jazz to Latin to rock to country and almost anything in between, I often feel so daunted by the sheer diversity out there and frozen into indecision about which avenue to pursue first, so thank you for unfreezing me!
Although currently in the US, I am actually British - when are you going to get a licence to launch Pandora in the UK? Everyone there would love it...
Posted by: Chip at August 21, 2006 11:51 AM
I have listened to a lot internet radio providers and this one by far is the best. The fact that you can select certain artist or song title is awesome. My only suggestion for the website is that you allow your customers 10 skips per hour instead of 5, the reason is because there is so many band out there sometimes ill hear more that 5 band i dont like and cannot change until the hour is up. Other than that the best web radio provider out there no doubt.
Posted by: Brandon at August 21, 2006 12:22 PM
You can't forget about Chicago...may even need two nights!
Cheers,
Shaunak

It would be awesome if you guys could come to West Palm Beach, Florida. The local music scene is excellent and I would love to hear some of my favorite local bands on Pandora.
Posted by: Darlene at August 22, 2006 11:14 AM
Pandora is great! I have been listening to nothing but it since I discovered it a few weeks ago. I am excited you guys are coming out to Va. and will definitely try to go.
If I could, I would like to make a few suggestions. I would like to see a search by genre, like house or world music. Maybe even album title? Also, I'd like for there to be a way to go back a song or two if I miss some. The only real complaint I have is the fluctuation of the volume from song to song. Other than those little things, I am having a great time with Pandora!
Posted by: Leslie at August 23, 2006 12:49 PM
I have turned tons of people on to your service and its rewarding when many of them fall in love with your service as I have!
What I want to know is when are you coming to Denver?
Posted by: Andrew at August 23, 2006 03:22 PM
Have you considered the NUMBER ONE COLLEGE MUSIC TOWN in the USA --- Athens, Georgia --- home to Michael Stipe, B52s, Venice is Sinking --- even Chris Martin visited this music mecca this year. Time for Pandora!
Posted by: anna at August 24, 2006 06:37 PM
I can't believe you guys exist! My son IMd me at work to try Pandora. Now here I am hours later tinkering with new Stations of various genres. (Yeah -- I burned through my allotment of skips way too fast til I got the hang of it...!) Each one is more awesome than the one before. I'm blasting the sound throughout the house. I had just given up finding sounds that fit my every-mood. But you've figured it out. Next time you're in the DC area, make sure we locals know where to find you.

I wish I could've attended the Orlando meet up. Sadly, I had to work. I do however think this is the greatest thing to happen to music since MP3s. This service is incredible and I've single handedly spread the word to at least 2 dozen friends by now. Thank you for inventing this Tim!

This is just wonderful. I've been telling all of my music-loving friends about the site and it seems like word is spreading fast. I was wondering though....no stops scheduled in Baltimore? There are some good things going on there musically. If you do make it out that way, check out the 8 x 10. It's a small music venue and one of my all-time favorite places to see up-and-coming acts.

Hey... I LOVE the site... really great.
One thing though.... the audio level seems to change from song to song... sometimes rather dramatically. Do I need to fix my ears... or is this really happening?
Posted by: David at September 8, 2006 06:47 PM
It is Beginning to aaaaaaappear that you have the
same CD`s playing on various stations and I`m becoming very bored w/your selections! These artists have much more current material that I`m aware of and I`d like to know why you aren`t playing these songs.

My lordylord, this is the best discovery that I've made since I learned about chocolate syrup and milk. Whew!
One suggestion: I love that we have the opportunity to say "I don't like this," but if we were given a space to say, "...but I would like this, and it fits well into this radiostation" it would not only give you guys new names and ideas, but also a way for listeners to get a few good brushstrokes on this beautiful masterpiece that you're working on. Thanks again.
