We're coming back to New York City on May 15th and 16th, 2006. We're planning a gathering on the evening of the 16th. Please leave any comments or suggestions here - always looking for fun music-related things to do and hear. So much to do in the big apple, and so little time! We'll post details on the get together as soon as we have more specifics. Really looking forward to this visit.

I'm surprised the band Avail is not part of your database. There are much more obscure punk/hard core bands on the list.

would love to finally put a face with the people blessing me with all this music
if you could send an e-mail to tell your faithful followers where you will be it would be deeply appreciated...

the cleavagents (http://www.cleavagents.cjb.net/) are one of the most popular local bands up in westchester. They're pretty good, too, if you like punk.

There's a lot of great music happening on the Lower East Side these days. Check out Mercury Lounge, Arlene's Grocery, Pianos, Rockwood Music Hall to name a few.
Drop me a line if you want to hang with a native NYer who knows what's happening.

Dear Tim : I only have two suggestions for you
New artist on Rock Ridge Music N.Y. : distributed through "ADA" song : Gleam by Redding being transmitted on Live 365 RRM internet radio.
I don't recommend you send people "G.G. Allin"
unless it's requested I understand he is part of the CBGB scene/history but that's not my idea of
freedom of speech that's in my opinion someone's
mental & emotional distress on public display
I don't believe in censorship but I think it should only be available on request same with
Charles Manson yes believe it or not he has an album out and it's in the Launchcast Library
Two artists I absolutely don't ever want on my
station or playlist. I have not shared my station
with anyone nor have I invited anybody to check it out. I have however recommended to several music industry people to check out Pandora itself. My station seems to not exist anymore
I did not destroy it or erase it Sum 41 radio "Sonic Bunker" .Some DJ in NY I never even heard of was apparently hacking our network or my private email hopper over here and eavesdropping on the station and is very, very misinformed they wrongly think this is something publicly shared like Launchcast Radio.
Sorry if your Genome was invaded by unwelcome
hackers. Our network administrators have been tracking them. They will be reported to their ISP & ICANN. I did not cancel my subscription either. Thanks. Ross

Hello, we'd love to find out when and where you are meeting in NYC. Jann Klose is an artist to add to your database. He just played at Rockwood Music Hall last night. Also, check out Irene Mastrangeli (aka Erene), an Italian singer/songwriter living in NYC. She plays the Rockwood, Arlene Grocery, etc. as well.

pleeeease add The Like to your list of bands. thank you - pandora is my saving grace during work!

I've just started using the service, and thus far am very pleased and am sharing it with my fellow music lovers. I however have found it impossible to find any classical! Some Mozart and Bach couldn't do you any harm. Thanks :D
Posted by: Aria at May 18, 2006 12:46 PM
It is truely a great service, keep up the good work.
A little clasical music will not hurt.
Posted by: abe abramowicz at May 18, 2006 03:29 PM
Hi, i would like to chime in on the request for classical music. also , how about allowing people to choose by genre or mood?
Posted by: jenine at May 19, 2006 08:09 AM
Hey there,
Great work with the site. You said you were looking for suggestions. I am an interactive designer on Long Island, and I listen to Pandora at work.
One suggestion I have: instead of choosing "i dont like this song, never play it again"
there should be an option of "don't play this artist ever again"
Most of the times if its something i don't like, it's the artist, not the song.
Suggestion2...when I choose the option "I like this, play more like it"
the song selection seems to change from my original pick. It would be better if it stayed on the original course of my station, but added those songs i say 'i like' too the original outset.
If that makes any sense, than i hope it helps.
Good work.
John
PS The band Ambeon should be on there too. Progressive metal. Sidekick of Ayreon really.

Come to CAPE COD, MA! Not only is there an awesome music scene out here, but it's a lovely place to visit. Julie Wanamaker is an outstanding talent that you should check out.

I love this! I listen everyday. Thank you.
I do have one suggestion, can you put up some color on the screen?
Posted by: Lisa at May 25, 2006 01:38 PM
Words are not enough - thank you for creating pandora
Posted by: janet at May 25, 2006 05:18 PM
Love Pandora. Just found it last night but already I'm in love. Am letting everyone know about this.
On the NY scene, in Brooklyn, there is a terrific musician who goes by the name "Mocean Worker" a.k.a. Adam Dorn. Also on the NY scene are a lot of greats but a couple favorites are drummer Mike Clark (jazz and funk) and pianist Onaje Allan Gumbs.
I happen to be a soul-doo wop fan and there is a great DJ here, Felix Hernandez, who plays on WBGO (public radio)in Newark on Sat. 10A to 2p and WRKS--Kiss-FM on Sunday, 12n to 4pm. He really knows the genre' inside-out. Maybe Felix could hook you up a "Felix Hernandez" show case. It would rock! (He's got stuff you never heard before.)(Maybe there are other real music DJ's you could show case in other genre's, too.)
Lastly, one more time, Pandora is just what we all need. Thanks for doing this! You are the best!

If you have a chance, try to stop by the Lazy Lounge in White Plains, NY (about 30 min. north of Manhattan). You guys are great!

ROD LEAVITT,(TROMBONE) AND SINGERS AS NICOLE PASTRNAK,KATHERINE DUPUIS, BEVERLY KENNY,VIVIAN LORD,ETC. CAN YOU DOWNLOAD MEMBERS A COMPLETE ARCHIVE?
ALSO MISSING: NEAL HEFTI ORCH., BRAD TERRY,CLAR.ALL ON LP'S OR CDS....AND SO FORTH.FOR THE PRICE, YOU'RE STILL AHEAD OF MOST. ALSO,WHEN COMING AGAIN TO NYC OR WESTCHESTER COUNTY? MISSED YOUR

It would be great if you visited Albany, NY which is only about 90 mins. from NYC. Lots of wonderful coffee shops & restaurants! I've been having a hard time finding classical music on Pandora. Doesn't have any response for Brahms, Beethoven, and other very basic composers.

Let's have a forum on the evolution of latin music in New York and thought the U.S.A.at the end of the fourties and through the present. There have been many great musicians (composers, singers, bands, disk jockeys, promoters) that have come through these doors and have not been recognized on the contributions they have made to Jazz, latin jazz, salsa and other music. Latin Music Hall of Fame, is there such a thing? Lets get moving on this one. Sincerely, L.A.
Posted by: Louis at October 2, 2006 04:53 PM
Lets get a forum going to honor those musicians who contributed to the promotion of latin music during the end of the forties to present. Need a Hall of Fame created to honor musicians, composers, bands, promoters, disk jockeys, music stations, companies that promoted latin music, record companies, writers, columnist, clubs, etc. etc. With Pandoras support we can make it happen. Sincerely, L.A.

How about a feature that allows me to block specific artists from playing on my station?
Posted by: Gregg at October 8, 2006 01:50 PM
I second (or 5th or 10th) the request for classical music. Bach and Mozart please. There are far more amphibians out there than peoeple know. Charlie Parker listened to Bartok; Al Haig - great be-bop pianist with Bird and Stan Getz - practiced Chopin; Earl Hines played the ridiculously difficult Beethoven 0p.111 Sonata. I'm a professional jazz musician and sometimes historian; most of my colleagues are extremely classically literate. Oh - Guess who Louis Armstrong's favorite singer and role model was? Caruso.
Keep up the great work. I just started last night; wrote in "Stan Getz with Oscar Peterson Trio" (there is such a CD) and got instead Lester Young with Peterson - stood my hair on end. Peterson does something to soloists. I heard Pres a lot after the war; his drug bust and army experiences in '44 nearly killed him and he mostly wasn't playing very well. Here he is absolutely stunning; lost his usual cool - going in the direction of Fllp Philips, with whom he shared the stage at JATP (A Norman Granz effoert as are the Peterson recordings) - growling, honking. Marvelous. THANKS!! You proceeded to play about 10 songs I never heard - Hard to keep up for 70 years...sam (leroy) parkins

I know this is way too late for your road trip. But I just saw a news article that CBGB's is closing. A NY landmark, going... going... gone....
I think I will have to make a Ramones station today.

Hey pandora,
I'm a new listener of this great radio station. I only have one thing to say, there' nothing else like pandora out there. You guys rock! thanks for your great technology

Guys,
This Pandora thing is great, but please don't use it for evil. I know the economic pressures of our times are great, but fuck the marketeers!
Also you should come to Long Island next trip. There is a long history of music here, and very extensive opportunities to interact with those responsible for lots of great music.
Posted by: Mikedelix at November 11, 2006 11:20 AM
It is very creative and includes a wealth of information.
Posted by: Zdwntmfl at December 6, 2006 08:35 AM
I am very happy I have found pandora, because I have such a diverse variety of genres that I enjoy hearing. It seems I am fond of Italian based music, such as Bocelli, or rich melodious singing. It is unfortunate that Pandora doesn't have classical music as yet, but there is so much of a variety in other styles that it is not that much of a dis appointment. I am so glad that my appreciation of music is so large. I'll keep adding more stations till I reach the maximum of a hundred.

Suggestion to Pandora: I was stumped as to why I couldn't hear anything, until I saw your help page telling me about your volume slider. I hit the play/pause a bunch of times trying to get sound out, but nothing -- until I read that help page. To make your players more user friendly, you ought to set it so that if the play/pauuse button is clicked more than once in a row, while the volume is set to zero, then you turn the volume back to full.
