The Pandora Servers are Moving

On Friday, May 26th at 7PM Pacific Time we'll be moving the servers that power Pandora from one datacenter to another. Pandora's new home will give us additional room and capacity for scaling up the service as more and more people stop by to listen. The move should take us 8-10 hours.

Assuming everything goes according to plan, we'll be up and broadcasting throughout the move, but you'll not be able to create new stations, give us feedback on songs, or edit your account in any way. Pandora will be in this state until early in the morning on Saturday May 27th at which point we expect things to be back to normal. Thanks in advance for your patience.

Update 7:34PM: We've started the move. Cross your fingers for us :-)

Update 9:15PM: The first of the servers are racked up in their new home.

Update 9:36PM: We've just updated our DNS so some traffic is now making its way to the new datacenter! So far so good.

Update 10:38PM: All traffic is now being routed to our new datacenter. We still have lots of hardware to move, but things continue to go well. We'll be in "read only" mode for a few more hours. Thanks again for your patience with us as we work through this.

Update 11:50PM: Our databases have made the move and we're able to take your "thumb" feedback and account changes again. You should also be able to create new accounts and stations. There's still a fair bit of hardware to move, but with some luck, the rest of the operation will be invisible to you.

Completed! 3:45AM: All our servers are now tucked happily into their new home and are serving traffic. Thanks to the truly remarkably team here everything went absolutely perfectly. Thanks again for your patience with us tonight. We're excited to be in our new home.

Hi, I just started using pandora and love it. I'm obviously never using one of those internet radio things again, this is great!

Had a question, the quality of the music sounds great, whats the bitrate coming through?
Just wondering,
Mike

We stream 128Kbps

Thanks for the update and good luck. (Moving, of any sort, ick.)
I hope Pandora enjoys her new digs!

Posted by: Jay at May 26, 2006 11:01 AM

the title page could be change to the name of the music is playing..

Posted by: luciano costa at May 26, 2006 12:00 PM

So far I really enjoy the concept of Pandora and have begun to build stations of interest. But I find the system slow to respond to my requests. Sometimes 3 - 5 minutes will go by with nothing playing. I would also like to see the album detail while the track is playing.

Thank you!

I gotta say I admire the work of the creator of Pandora. The user interface is easy to use, and brilliant! I started using it a few weeks ago, and I just love it! It looks great, sounds great and works great! Congratulations for making such a GREAT product!=)=)

I'm in love...honestly this is the greatest! It's exactly what I needed!
I was getting so bored of my music but I found it too hard to find more
stuff like it! Perfect!! I keep bringing it up in conversations...it's wonderful!
so keep up the good work I guess!!

I have been listening to internet radio for quite a while and after by accident I discovered Pandora and that was it...

I'M HOOKED!!!

Congratulations, you are the best

just love the stations i get

Posted by: ken at May 26, 2006 01:56 PM

Is there a URL we can load into a standalone player such as Winamp? I know we won't be able to "vote" on the songs this way, but when I'm listening, some links will open up in the window that Pandora is in which will stop the stream.

All in all, I love the concept. Took a few songs to refine my playlist, but I'm loving it now.

Can listeners add music not available or listed on the site (i.e local up and coming artists who haven't made the cut)? What are the criteria for being listenable? Thanks, Allen

Posted by: Allen Campbell at May 26, 2006 02:02 PM

Exquisite site.

Am unable to access iTunes to purchase songs.

Is this because of the move today?

Good luck in the new situation and...thanks!

Ive been around since the beginning and Pandora is a brilliant idea and my favorite place for music.
Thanks

This is the best music site ever. Now if I only could I get this in my car...

Kudos and keep up the good work.

Posted by: Bryan at May 26, 2006 02:30 PM

So I'd been using Launchcast on Yahoo, but I passed a certain bandwith so it gave me a limited version of my station w/ no skipping allowed and the same ad every two or three songs. I got tired of listening to crap songs and ads, so I set off in search of something else. I found Pandora and it totally rocks my socks off. I love the fact that if you give a song a thumbs down it automatically stops playing. The only suggestion I have is to have a third option on the songs. One in the middle for songs you just kind of like.

Thanks for providing such a fantastic site and player!! Several of my friends have also joined!!

I really love this service. By the way, will moving to a larger server lengthen the unattended listening time?

Posted by: Ron at May 26, 2006 03:40 PM

pandora is the best thing that's happened to music, next to jimi picking up a guitar. music is my soul and it's taken a beating over the past few years.

i hate the radio and can't stand the abominations that pass as 'music' nowadays. hence, i've been in dire need of some fresh music. with pandora, i love listening to new music again!

i love you guys! if you need any PR done, i'm your woman.

Posted by: sweettonics at May 26, 2006 03:44 PM

hey you guys actually knew who Manu Chao was! I learned of Manu chao about 5 years ago and was hooked. I have searched High and Low for their music and have finally found them with you!

Now, here's a thought. How about getting some pow wow jams on this service. Pow wows are Native American gatherings for those not informed on the topic. Drumgroups from across the states and up into canada could benefit from this experience.

At any rate, diggin' it.

need any sales reps in the midwest hit me up!

Hey well I've been using Pandora for awhile and I love it. It plays all the songs I want it to. Then other times it doesn't do or play the songs I want it to. But thanks and continue to do whta you guys have been doing.

the best. its great to hear all of my old school hits, to bad we can`t download. but its great

Posted by: angle at May 26, 2006 03:58 PM

I've been recommending Pandora to all my close friends... they all love it :) when we exchanged new found bands or old love and adding it in eachother radio stations, my music experience gained another dimension.
Also I must say that it rocks you guys really read the emails you get and check out the music people do suggest. I found Devin Townsend in the database a couple of weeks after I sent the mail to you, tops!

About pandora in the car: I know it's not as cool as Pandora, but XM Satellite radio (at least in CA, dunno in other states) gives pretty kickass radio with barely any adds (like once an hour a 5 second announcement that you're listening to XM blabla channel) for 13 bucks a month. It's got pretty much any kind of channel you can imagine, but it's of course not modificable like pandora and also doesn't give so much music you never heard of.

Posted by: Bob at May 26, 2006 04:09 PM

Pandora, Pandora, Pandora.

Good luck with the move, though I'm sorry I'll not be able to make some kickin' new stations, as I picked this up yesterday.

Amazing service. Thanks for it.

If you need any chemical engineering done, I'm your man.

Posted by: john at May 26, 2006 04:51 PM

I have used pandora for a month or more and I really enjoy what I'm hearing. (I build my own stations, duh!) But when it comes to religious programming you really have a long way to go. (as a pastor to say your choices in religious music suck, just wouldn't be right, so I won't say it, lol) All you seem to have is Gospel choirs and so-on. There is great music in Christian blues, jazz, world, etc. I am not a CCM fan but would like to hear a variety of good rock too. My tastes in music run all over the place, listening to Little Feat radio now, and so far YOUR GREAT!

Posted by: Ken at May 26, 2006 04:56 PM

I love your service, am now using it as a great alterntive to Yahoo!'s restricted LC service (aka does not work on Linux/Firefox). Thanks!

I hope all goes well and you don't end up opening up the box (Pandora's, that is) in the process! :P

I find that I learn of artists that are new and/or unfamiliar to me while listening to my favorites. (This would tend to tempt me to buy their recordings).
Now if only I could get it on my XM . . . . . . .
THANKS.

read about the service in popsci. i only wish i knew about it sooner, i'm hooked. hope you get a lot of users as a result of being in a publication.

Posted by: Matt at May 26, 2006 07:40 PM

Pandora is not i repeat not linear. You don't put in an artist or song and recieve just songs on that channel. Why? because you tell your friends about Pandora. After you tell your friends about Pandora, You find music on Pandora, They find music on Pandora, their friends, whom' they can't help but tell, find music on Pandora. If anything the way you find music with Pandora is an every growing web of interwoven musical tastes. I and a few million of my closest friends.... Love Pandora. THANK YOU!

What a great concept! Pandora is a perfect name. "Pandora's Box" would be even better because that is what you have opened! I do believe this is the beginning of a new online music venue. Keep doing it!!!

Posted by: LuLu at May 26, 2006 09:00 PM

Sup Pandora,

I'm so glad you opened your box for me.
Anyways, I'm just chillin' in rainy ol' Seattle and came up with an idea were you could select to censor songs if you wanted. It would be great for people with kids, like me! The radio does it, so I thought it would be cool if you could have that option. When you are in Seattle check out "Ghetto Prez" for the best in Seattle Hip-Hop.

Peace, MartyMar.

Hi People.
I'm Writing from Bogota D.C., COLOMBIA!!!

I'm just knowing Pandora sistem and it's cool!, I found it easy to 'program' and I like the View.

A question: Is there a Spanish Version in the factory for 'only-Spanish-Language' People?

Posted by: Peter at May 27, 2006 08:14 AM

pandora is amazing, just when everyone was sick to death of the manufactured rubbish that is being foisted on us constantly by the music industry you come along and it's wonderful!! I've discovered more new music & artists to my taste through pandora in a couple of months than through years of radio & tv...

A couple of suggestions for improvement though, sometimes i get a track that i like but am not in the mood for, could we have an option to add it to a different station than the one that is playing currently?

Also when we add a specific track, I know you can not play it straight away, but could we have a promise that it is played in the next 10 tracks? It seems that if I add a load of tracks instead of artists it guarentees that those tracks never get played :(

keep up the good work!

and you really need to add roni size - it's a jazz thing, it's an amazing track.. :)

Posted by: dave at May 27, 2006 08:19 AM

I hope you've got plenty of bandwidth, 'cause this thing is amazing and soon everyone will be on it! I'm certainly recommending it to everyone I know and see that others are doing the same. Great work!

Hiya! Just like to say this is a FANTASTIC site!
I joined not too long ago, and it is INCREDIBLE.
I love the fact it is radio that plays things similar to what you already like! Makes my knowledge of music more widespread!
Two suggestions though, have a MIDDLE option to the thumb up thumb down choice, so you can say you KIND of like it, and two, have a rewind button so you can play a song AGAIN that you really like!

I would like to see a new option on pandora, a way to say "I'm tired of this type of music, don't play it for a week" I took a lot of time to get my station playing close to the sort of stuff I like, but sometimes, if unwatched, it plays the same sort of music (blues) forever.

Greatist site on the net though, thanks, and congrats on you move.

We seem to have lost track of exactly what music is truly meant to be...A true way to communicate
our honest feelings about any subject...Music is
a true form of expression...With the universal
understanding of music, we understand all other
languages...Maybe soon, Madison Ave. and Hollywood
can be tried in for crimes against mankind for
polluting the air streams with the crap they deal
for as music & art on the streets of whats left
of our planet...

By listening to music your product selects, then picking an artist from that list and listening to music selected by that artist, over time I build on a music genome that continues to get closer to whatever sound I believe is ideal.

The concept is amazing, using genetic algorithims to continually refine one's list till it marks on some ideal sound for the listener, brilliant!

Thank you, unfortunately its becoming a powerful drug, I spend my time refining my artists!

Posted by: Stewart at May 27, 2006 11:21 AM

props for the brilliant idea and service- so simple and yet so great

keep up the fantastic music, i'd love to get a job listening to all the cds you guys get and sorting it by the rules you use. its such a brilliant idea to not limit yourself to genres and do it by the qualities the music possesses. that summed up my philosophy for music as i'll listen to pretty much anythin as long as its good. i think thats the singular reason why pandora is so successful and perfect.

I would like to find some more indie, and local stuff. There are a lot of really good indie bands that you either havent added yet or never heard of. My favorite now is called Til December. www.tildecember.com

Well done on the server move, it's never easy doing a release. Have been spreading the word on Pandora for months, a super service. Wish iTunes would catch up with you on content, though.

Pandora is just about the best thing I have ever found on the internet. Keep up the good work. I will be listening!

I haven't been impressed by many websites, especially music oriented ones. I ask for Moody Blues they give me Herman's Hermits. Pandora is the best I've seen in matching music tastes. My compliments to the designer of the search engine.

I love Pandora, I listen to it every day. I have a request.

Please remove Manuel Donayre from Clara Nunes Radio. He doesn't belong to samba style and he is not Brazilian. He sings in spanish, not portuguese the only language of Brazil , a different kind of music wich is not samba.

Thank you

Pandora is the greatest! I listen everyday. One request for you if possible. I get songs that I like but fit another station better. I would like for you to add an option to send the song to another station. Two thumbs up from me! Keep up the good work.

Pandora is truly great - BUT: I miss a few criterions such as "humour / spoof", periond (as in '60s, '70s etc.) and the Nationality of the Artist or Band.

Nevertheless - keep up the good work: We all love you!

Og så lige en hilsen til Danske Pandora-fans :-)

I happened to be so tired of listening to the radio one day in the shop. Every body always wanting to listen to something different. So I got the idea to hook up the computer to the radio in the bay. Then went to find a music station that we all could live with. I found your sight and It has been the only thing that all of use at Broken Acre Auto listen to any more. Thank you for this sight it has made my life in the shop a hole lot better. I've even turned my wife on to this sight and a hole lot of my customers also. Thank you again Deane owner of Broken Acre Auto Inc. .

WOW! Your site is GREAT!!!
This is a great way to find new and exciting music and artists. I often stand in the stores and have not a clue about what I want to buy. Songs on the radio these days sound just too much alike to me to figure out who the artist is. Your site solved that for me!
One request, if I may: Can you please get music from Taylor Hicks, either his finale song "Do I make you proud" or his albums "In your Time" and "Under the Radar" They are great music, and I would love to hear these on your site!
Thanks so much and keep it going!!

Pandora,

I sit hear listening to Christina Aguilera's "Infatuation" It sends a shiver down my spine. I love that tune. I wish I could listen to that song or songs like it when ever I'm in the mood. Or when I'm into J.J. Cale or Floyd or Marty Robbins. I notice my wife added Avril Lavigne and Nelly Furtado to our account. That's cool cause I can handle them too. This is just such a refreshingly cool site amongst all the crap! Thank you!

Obviously it is not easy what you are doing. I like the "Stripped" disc but not much else from Christina Aguilera so far so I slam most all her other stuff. Just too boring for me. But, then I hear a tune "Guess What" by Syleena Johnson" and I am hooked again. ANd what other station is truly inter-active?

Ok... it's not perfect, yet. But damn, it comes real close.

Thanks so much!

My mom saw this site mentioned in some magazine and showed it to me because she knows how much I love music. I stopped listening to the radio a few years ago, but I like this. I was surprised that some of the lesser known bands that I love were recognized by the player. I am also really glad that it works in Firefox (otherwise I would not have bothered listening).

One suggestion: Make the player bigger. I would like to see the entire title of the indivdual radio stations. It would also be nice to view more radio stations at a time.

Why do you folks use grey type on a white background? I suppose you could make this page less readable if you were to use grey on black. I'm constantly amazed at webmasters who try to be cute with shades and colors with readability suffering. Why? Why? Is not the imparting of information more important?

This is my 3rd day using Pandora, it's great, I'm recommending it to my friends all the time.

I would think artists would want to support you. You've already given me 3 great new artists I probably would have never heard of. These artists will make money off me through you.

Just curious about the name though, everything that came out of Pandora's box, save one, was negative and harmful. What's the explanation?

I have the most diverse music tastes, and there is not a single radio station out there that I am completely satisfied with, but once I started using Pandora, I found everything that I liked in music on my very own station! Its awesome, I hope you keep up the good work, I don't listen to anything but Pandora anymore!!!

Posted by: Jenn at May 28, 2006 01:08 PM

I saw a comment on an unrelated forum sayin she'd just discovered Pandora so I thought I'd take a look thinking it would be similar to Launchcast. How wrong I was! This is great!! Being able to tailor almost exactly the type of music I want to listen to is fantastic. I realise that you have to get your funding from somewhere and that ads will eventually be introduced but I hope this will be kept to a minimum. I'm aware that there are packages to eliminate this nuisance, but for those of us liks eme who are living very much hand to mouth at present, this isn't an option.
Well done on the trouble free move. And thanks for coming up with this great concept.
Nick

First off, let me add my praises to the long list of kudos (well deserved) you have received. I don't think my quality of life would be the same without Pandora! A heartfelt thanks.

Here's a request: Could you add a function for music "genres"? For example, Flamenco, Bluegrass, Country, R&B, Blues, Acoustic Guitar, and so on. I know it's possible to construct a station along those general lines (and I have already done so). But a "genre selection" feature would be real nice.

You guys are awsome, I am so glad I found you, I listen to you guys while I am at work! Congrats!
I was pleased to find that I can use Firefox for Pandora now, because it is my standard browser.
I have been a Pandora listener for half year now and like a lot of the music. But I sometimes find that a station will meander off in an unwanted direction despite all the thumbs down I provide. So additional tips on giving effective feedback would be great!

I love pandora

I was wondering if you're going to make an MSN "Music that i'm listening to" plugin?

Posted by: Avalanche at May 28, 2006 03:18 PM

>>>Is there a URL we can load into a standalone player such as Winamp? I know we won't be able to "vote" on the songs this way, but when I'm listening, some links will open up in the window that Pandora is in which will stop the stream.<<<

In response to this question may I suggest that your run Pandora in an alternate non-default browser. If you do so, you will never have to deal with a popup or some other internet request taking the focus from Pandora and closing it down. I have also found that if you minimize Pandora with IE7 (possibly 6 as well) it creates it's own small separate browser window that I have yet to be able to crash by opening something else.

Hi there
Well I must admit I listen a lot to Pandora but it seems it only recognises names of things that has been issued or re-issued on cd and that leaves a whole lot of holes. I listen a lot to funk bands and soul from mid '70's to mid '80's and believe me only like 10% has been re-issued on cd and that's a doggone shame.

Posted by: Lars Michael Sørensen at May 28, 2006 04:16 PM

I dont knwo where else to put this, but a few user interface things. it would be sweet to be able to cahnge the order of your radio stations in thier sidebar. Like i am trying to make two different dance stations but i would like them to be next to each other so i can compare faster, but there is 8 stations between them.

also, thumbs up and thumbs down options should available outside a drop menue, maybe as perminant options on the lowest gray part of the UI

also, note, this site is absolutly amazing in every way, keep it up.

Posted by: JoshR at May 28, 2006 05:20 PM

I ll say this is the best music stream service I have played. After teaching the player to skip the songs that I dont want, it plays all the good songs.. yai!

Hopefully you will not get too big and get chewed up, but keep expanding your libraries and functionality:) I have absolutely told everyone I know about this site, and I keep insisting until they try it. hehe

Posted by: Garg at May 28, 2006 05:22 PM

I love Pandora and the music genom project - it's probably the most ingenious thing done about music on the internet so far! I've discovered a lot of music unknown to me, but much to my likings, thanks to you - and what better you could ask for? Go on with your great work, it's appreciated!!

I discovered Pandora on accident while trying to find radio stations and I LOVE it. I work in a call center so it gets kind of slow so I listen to it everyday. I like that it has many different varieties and all the music is up to date. I hear alot of new songs that I have never heard before. I now have many new cd's because of the music I hear on Pandora. Hey! I love to listen to music, and when I heard about pandora.com, I love to listen to music even more! So far i've had maybe a dozen or more "stations" and every band or song i've typed in, i've got the correct results back. I've heard alot of music that I haven't heard in a long time. For example, I have an alien ant farm station, and I heard 12 stones. I haven't heard that band in such a long time I nearly forgot about them! I use to be an avid live365 listener, but I can only get 56Kbps streaming, and the difference between 56Kbps and 128Kbps is easily heard!! You guys are just awesome, I hope that you're around for a long time. I also hope to submit my CD to you sometime, from my band that you see in my URL i've submitted along with this post. Have a great day.. and once again.. THANKS ALOT PANDORA TEAM!

I love Pandora, no questions asked! But I'd love it even more if it was integrated into my Windows Media Center! I know there are hacks to allow it to run inside MCE, but that's not what I really want.. A true integrated solution would be perfect!
Are there any plans for something like that? Would it be possible for the 'Pandora Community' to develop such a solution for you?

Audio droppouts are a frustrating one -- we're way below our total potential capacity at the moment so the problem sits somehwere in the Internet between our servers and your computer. This could happen if your Internet connection is congested or is at capacity (anywhere in the link not just in the "last mile" to your home). Pandora requires connection speed of at least 500 Kbps to stream our high quality audio content. While listening, you may need to avoid bandwidth consuming activities like large file downloads and online gaming to ensure smooth playback.

Geography can also play a role in audio playback quality. Due to licensing restrictions, Pandora is currently only offered to users in the United States. As a result, all of our audio servers are in the US. If you are attempting to access Pandora from outside the US, the distance that the audio must travel (and the number of network "hops" from our servers to your machine) can be a very real issue. We'll be rolling out local servers when we launch our international services.

Audio problems can also occur when you use an older versions of the Flash player. You can download the latest version here:

http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

Finally your computer's speed could be an issue. If you are using an older machine, there may not be enough memory or CPU resources to properly buffer and play back streaming audio while running a Flash applet. If you are using an older machine, you may need to keep other resource-intensive applications to a minimum when using Pandora.

I hear about this station from Kurt, the Cyberguy on TV. When I found, I loved it!

I'd like you to put little balloons with information in them so when my mouse hovers over the Play, Pause, buttons, I know which one is which & what they do.

I love this because there are no commercials, like on the DogCat Radio station or on WNUA. This is great! I can't wait to tell my friends about another great way to get the music they want when they want it.

Keep up the good work & good luck on your new move!!

Great. I just love Pandora. Too bad about limited skipping though. I really fell that I get songs that I like only. I even get the artists I asked for. With other adjustive radios like Yahoo! Launch, it just plays anything and says you should like it...

I have to second, third, and fourth what others have already said: you are fulfilling a mission that Hollywood and the "professionals" have not only ignored but corrupted through their own greed. I live in Los Angeles and have been a beneficiary, both personally and financially, of that now-outmoded and increasingly pathetic System...may it Rest in Peace. I have chosen to move on to more honest and creative pastures. You guys are setting the map for people like me and all the others on here that have expressed similar sentiments and for that I Thank You...Michael Lacoe.

Just found out about this site today- its great- i love it already!

Just wondered if Im missing something- Ive been so excited about all the new music that ive been flicking through loads without listening to the whole song. Is there any way to go back and play a song again?

Keep up the good work- we need more 'brainstormers' like you in the world :)

So my roommate just bought Cradle of Filth, bec. he liked "Gilded C***" on my Ministry station. LOL. I knew once he heard some of the stuff I was listening to, he'd be hooked. (He's a metal fan, but didn't know Ministry, etc.)

Love sharing this site. Thanks again!!

P.S.
a little bit of heavy music should be a little better

yee haaaa, you have thousands of adoring fans in Australia, what a great product, no irratating banal repititve commercials, like all the other radio and online music channels. We bow down before you. Pandora is a brilliant light in a swamp of pretenders. You soo need to sell yourselves and let more people know about what a great easy to use service this is. A good idea might be to include like at least 5 preset stations like; dance, latest pop, jazz, music for making love to, alternative, rap, hip hop, etc. The first page should tell people they need to add at least 5 artists or songs they like, and they should continue to add more. The sound is always perfect here in Australia, no buffering and I'm on 1.5 Mb ADSL.

Keep up the great work, I will give Pandora staff free accomodation in our penthouse if you ever decide to come to Melbourne, Australia.

Awsome!

I love this site. You even knew "Hot Dog" by Led Zeppelin and played it within 5 songs of making the station. And the songs you played along with it are great. I will be subscribing when the commercials get annoying.

Thanks for a GREAT site and keep up the good work.

IS there any kind of sound leveling being used with the music? I have found that the volume is different on each song. It would be fantastic to have them leveled so there are not big ups and downs in volume when listening.

Keep up the good work, it is a fantastic concept and equally spectacular delivery!

on my station I say I want music values similar to the artist Tenatious D, but I only get one song by them. my sister can put in songs similar to nelly or what-not and get ten songs by him, whats up?

Posted by: Sam at May 30, 2006 02:18 PM

OK, so now you've got blues, rock, jazz, R&B, folk, country (AND western), house, garage, electronica, dance and every other form of popular and unpopular modern music classified, tagged & databased, when are you going to start in on classical?

Listen to you all day. Got you on my site. Tell all my friends about you. Keep it coming. :)

Since the move I'm only getting the audio in mono
(at least since the 30th of May anyhow :)).Is this going to be the norm from now on i.e. no stereo sound ?

Posted by: AstorZombie at May 30, 2006 07:51 PM

AstorZombie,

The audio streams we deliver are stereo. Those servers didn't actually move or change. Sounds like it's something else. Has any of the config changed on your machine?

@Dean -

There is an unofficial forum here:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/musicyoulove/

I took the liberty of setting it up because I noticed a lot of blog comments are either questions users can answer for one another or people just want to talk about how the service is the best thing since dill pickles.
(To be perfectly honest, I asked first, then I worried about all of the things that could wrong, THEN I set it up).

Every one is invited to drop by.

I've listened to multiple genres of music all of my life. A game myself and a few buddies have played, especially on the long way out West to go on a wilderness trek, involved listening to new music and trying to ID qualities, tones, riffs etc that showed the influence of an older musical artist or group. You've made the game into a science! Brilliant! Like the earlier poster, I eagerly await your public offering of shares.-js

Pandora is the best thing going on the net that I've found (Wikipedia is now second best). I just want to say THANKS to the team at Genome for the hard work and giving music lovers something to cheer about.

Posted by: Eventhorizon at June 10, 2006 07:40 AM

Besides the obligatory "I really like Pandora," I was thinking of a (probably pretty obvious) feature request. I'd like to be able to see a list of recently-played songs in a given station... I know that you get the little CD covers as context, but that's not always reliable and it only goes so far.

(Is there a better way to send feature requests?)

Thanks!
