We want to meet you! Nov 10th @ 6:30 in San Francisco.

Over the course of the last 8 weeks we've been introduced to an incredible group of Pandora listeners from all over the world. Whether it's been here in the Pandora blog comments, via pandora-support@pandora.com, or out there in the blogosphere we've virtually "met" an amazing and passionate group of music lovers.

We think it would be fun to get some of our bay area listeners together to meet face to face. To that end, a bunch of the Pandora gang is going to head to Edinburgh Castle -- a great Scottish pub in San Francisco -- on Thursday, November 10th and we'd like for you to join us. We'll be there at 6:30PM. It will be a low key thing; just a bunch of music lovers getting together to hang out.

Hopefully you'll be able to come... we'd certainly love to have you there. Just RSVP with a comment to our blog to give us a sense of how many we can expect.

Details:

When: Thursday, Nov. 10th, 2005 @ 6:30
Where: Edinburgh Castle, 950 Geary (between Polk & Larkin)
RSVP: Post a comment here

PS: Some of us are planning to go over to the Great American Music Hall afterwords for the Matt Nathanson concert. It turns out that he's a great "Genome match" for a wide range of rock music inputs on Pandora, so we thought we'd head over to check out his live show. You're very welcome to join us for that too if you'd like. Or not. Totally up to you.

Just discovered Pandora and am addicted.

Would love it if you guys displayed the year of the albums/singles' release under the band name. Means alot when you're trying to find it for purchase or just to satisfy one's curiosity.

Thanks!

Are you going to do this again? I just found your service, and would love to hear more about this company and the people who make it run--not to mention kick back with other audiophiles as well.

Posted by: Savannah Lisle at August 24, 2006 4:10 PM

OK, I love the Pandora site. I am having a blast creating my own "stations".
I may ask if we could create "genre" stations ? I happen to like folk as well as showtunes.

Posted by: Robert Hall at August 24, 2006 7:20 PM

I am there! I may follow you around the country. Not in a stalker sort of way.....more like a DeadHead sort of way. Wait, I take it all back...Pandora just played a David Hasselhoff song on my Wilco station. I give! I won't follow you.

Posted by: etip at August 25, 2006 5:28 PM

This is amazing. Just discovered Pandora yesterday. Will you be coming to Los Angeles? I am an entertainment publicist and work in radio marketing and am thrilled with this discovery. On a personal note, my brother's birthday is approaching. How can I create a list of stations for him without losing mine? I would like to simply create a free account for him so that I can introduce him to the site (he also works in the music industry)and add some stations he will enjoy. Is this possible yet?

Posted by: shona at August 29, 2006 2:20 PM

Definitely coming. With about five other people. Prepare yourselves;)

Posted by: lecksee at August 31, 2006 12:28 AM

Hi, just trying to let you know about a great Australian band called the Drones. Check them out! Very similar to the Black Keys - only better! Later, Kat

Aaron Pope is an amazing local DJ in San Francisco, recently named Best DJ in SF in the Guardian Best of Poll. You can download his music at www.shinesf.com. Would love to see his music on the genome project.

Thanks!

Many excellent musicians work for Pandora. Why don't you guys put together a few bands or a jam session?

Posted by: Joe at September 14, 2006 5:17 PM

I discovered Pandora a couple of weeks ago and I'm hooked. I love music and this is really awesome. I was wondering if you will team up with Sonos so I can get you streaming to my home stereo via my router through my Sonos system.
Thanks,
Chuck

Don't care about S.F. or L.A. What about Fresno? Now that we have the Save Mart Center and Selland Arena, it would be nice to see what's going on at those venues.

On your next road trip through south or central California, you should stop at Santa Barbara. The college (UCSB) has a community radio station (KCSB) that I use to be a part of. It has VERY eclectic music.
If you get there in early August, they have a great local festivial celebrating their Spanish heritage, full of Latin music.
If you are there around June 21, you can catch the Summer Solstice Parade (aka the Pagen Fest). Lots of wonderful World Beat music.

Forgive me for posting this comment here, I don't know where else to leave it. It is absolutely outrageous that pandora.com is not available in other countries. I live in Europe. No, there is no Digital Millennium Copyright Act here. The lack of DMCA does not, however, constrain you legally from offering music to this continent. Quite to the contrary -- you will be less encumbered by an act which everyone except a few recording industry moguls thinks should be done away with. Presuming pandora.com is not simply a shill for the RIAA. How dare you say that "there are no licensing laws" in Europe. That's nonsense. There are no licensing laws which impose unreasonable restrictions similar to those under the DMCA. Nor are there likely to be in future. (Thank God.) That's a "feature" of the European system, not a bug.

The only message I get from your description of why pandora.com is not available outside the US on your blog is that you intend to militate for DMCA-type laws outside the US, i.e., pandora.com intends to serve as a pressure group to try to blackmail European music listeners into accepting the same legal nonsense as Americans suffer with. Lotsa luck.

Any chance that there could be a stop up at Sonoma State? I am the environmental Affairs director up here, and am planning a huge event for earth day 2008, similar to the Live earth concerts, only with all 23 CSU's,,

Dear Pandora Rep:
I have been a listener for a more than a couple years now and I have turned on at least 10 of my friends over the last two years and we have come to love the service, but whats up with the adds are taking over? What happened to you guys? I am sure you'll be jumping on the band wagon the economy has gotten bad, blah blah blah, but seriously, what made you stand out from the rest has just become a thing of the past. I am one fan that isn't fond of the change Pandora is chosen to make. I would contribute to charity or as a one time donation to your cause, but now a subscription fee of 36 bucks so you don't get adds? Come on guys what happened to you? I guess the almighty buck has taken over your love for experience and being true to your vision. Not a fan of the changes and direction Pandora is moving. I encourage you to share this with upper management and will post it on your blog, lets see if I am not alone out there.

I hear all sorts of artists on this wonderful station. I find 99.999% of who I like and that .0001% of wonderful New Artists. In the Contemporary Christian/Gospel catagory, I can't find Sweet Deliverance. A Vocal Band as good as any on the Radio, bar none. I have heard many other well deserving Gospell Vocal artists and bands, but can't find them anywhere. They have a huge following in California, Arizona, Missouri, Tennesse, even Paduka Kentucky. But we cant seem to find there here. How can we get a new artist added to your Contemporary Christian Music files.
You play The Artist by the name of Acappella. Sweet Deliverance is as good as and sometimes even better than this band that are all over your music files. Please let me know how we can get Sweet Deliverance on Pandora and add to the greates music channel ever created. You do the most wonderful work here and I tell everyone I know to sign up and enjoy the Best Music Site, EVER!!! Thank you for taking time to read my question. Regards, Jim Ferguson, Fremont California.

Hello,
Yes I'm the authoer songwriter of the first blink 182. You can call me Paulie, or Paul.
I was told to stop with material so ohters like my self began work on angels airwaves.
For myself and the original members of blink we finished the music then a bunch of skinny MTV type kids that were I'm sure more marketable were playing my music. And like, well it's happend before. With various new and existing artists/entertainers.
Human cloning had entered the creative picture. The artist PINK well I've been through the legal thing where an attorny from the Irvine area had a daughter that just looked like her or one of her.. Go figure her daddy sued for a lot of dough yo and got it. I don't have anything from it.
