“Mashups” on Pandora and other cool features

Hopefully you have been enjoying all the new features Pandora rolled out earlier this year. The principles of simplicity and clarity are at the heart of this evolution, as well as making it easier to personalise, discover, and explore your favourite music on Pandora.

One longed for feature is how to listen to two genres, artists or songs within one station. Our “add variety” feature means you can now do this, creating whatever mashup of styles you like, without having to switch stations.

An overview of all the features of Pandora are below:

Watch Out! Pandora is Available for Apple Watch.

You now have even more ways to discover, enjoy and personalize the music you love with Pandora on Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch is here (for some of us) and we are excited to be one of the first apps you can experience. You can access your favorite stations, thumb songs and control playback from your Apple Watch.

Glances on Apple Watch allow you to get a quick view of the music you love – whether you are out for a brisk run or just running errands for the family. You can also easily access new music notifications and control the volume without taking out your phone.

Launching on Apple Watch marks the latest wearable technology device where Pandora is available. This also marks another opportunity for our more than 81.5 million monthly listeners to effortlessly enjoy and discover the music they love anywhere, anytime. We look forward to learning more about the wearables space from our launch on Apple Watch and will continue to explore how we can develop meaningful and truly seamless listening experiences for our listeners on new devices and technologies.

Pandora for Glass: from Hack-a-thon to Explorer Edition

Twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, everyone in the technology organization here at Pandora puts our day jobs on hold and comes together for a Hack-a-thon.  The 72-hour event culminates with employees gathering around (with keg beer) to watch each team demo their hack. Winners are awarded for Best Demo, Most Creative Idea, Best Improvement to Pandora and Best Project Not Related to Pandora.

During the Hack-a-thon this spring, one team developed a hack for Pandora on Glass. It was such a hit that we decided to show it to Google, and we’re excited to announce today’s launch of Pandora for Glass.
