Billing Coordinator - Oakland, CA

Pandora Media is looking for a Billing Coordinator for our Finance Department. The right individual will be a key contributor in the Finance Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparing billing requests for advertising campaigns.
  • Responsible for uploading and understanding 3rd party ad servers delivered impressions.
  • Acts as a liaison between Finance and Sales Operations in reviewing and resolving any delivery discrepancies.
  • Issue invoices upon receipt of approved billing requests.
  • Emails customer invoices.
  • Responsible for initiating phase 1 in the collection process.
  • Assist other finance team members in a variety of other finance functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 2+ years in an online advertising environment and solid understanding of online advertising billing process is a must.
  • Very strong Excel experience is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of 3rd party ad servers (ATLAS, DFA, Eyewonder, Pointroll).
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Strong accounting knowledge, particularly in accounts receivable, collections and revenue recognition.
  • Detailed approach to reviewing and billing based on customers' insertion orders.
  • Very strong understanding of workflow process.
  • Prior entertainment or media experience a plus.
  • Extremely organized.

Central Region Sales Planning Manager - Chicago, IL

Pandora Media is looking for an experienced Sales Planning Manager for our Central sales team who has a background in interactive advertising with a proven track record of managing the pre-sales process, building/maintaining client relationships and building and training a sales planning team. The right candidate will also be highly organized and detailed-oriented, with solid communication skills and the ability to work on multiple ongoing projects.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Build a team of planning support in Chicago to cover the Chicago, Dallas and Detroit sales offices
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the sales planning team in the Chicago office
  • Hire and train new employees to the planning team in Chicago
  • Conduct performance reviews and regular training to improve the Chicago planning team
  • Run sales planning meetings as necessary
  • Work with the sales planning manager to find scalable solutions to sales planning operations
  • Coordinate and direct special projects

Planning Responsibilities:

  • Support 1-2 reps in the Central region
  • Responsible for working with the Central sales team to build and grow our current client list
  • Pre and post sales operations support to the Central sales team
  • Develop strong/deep relationships with ad agencies and clients responsible for online advertising
  • Provide pre-sales support to Sales Reps by pulling accurate inventory availability forecasts/reports in DFP's Availability Forecast
  • Help with execution, completion and fulfillment of requests for proposal (RFPs)
  • Assist Central Sales with @Plan, Comscore and Ad Relevance reports
  • Review media plans to ensure accuracy of placement details
  • Assist in filling out advertising spec templates and answering questions about Pandora's ad specs
  • Enter media plan details into MediaVisor or Atlas as necessary
  • Responsible for procedures related to booking the insertion orders, including successfully entering and reserving ad inventory using DART Sales Manager contract management system
  • Work with ad operations to review campaigns and create post-campaign reports for advertisers
  • Develop strong understanding of Pandora's ad products and sponsorship opportunities
  • Ensure that our premiere clients receive the highest level of sales customer service

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years experience in relevant position in Online Advertising/Marketing
  • Experience hiring, managing and training a team
  • Experience with DoubleClick DFP & DSM and/or Operative is preferred
  • Knowledge of the interactive marketplace
  • Strong work ethic; desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment

Director of Communications - Oakland, CA

As the primary public relations contact for Pandora, the Director of Communications reports to the Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, who serves as the company's primary spokesperson, with a significant amount of interaction with the company's CEO.

We are seeking candidates with extensive public relations experience, with a particular focus on consumer brands/services. This person would implement a comprehensive public relations strategy, incorporating the objectives of all functions in the company - consumer, technology, business development and advertising sales. Responsibilities

  • Implementing a full-scale communications and media relations program, incorporating the objectives of the Company's consumer, business development and advertising functions

  • Developing and managing external PR resources as needed to provide additional support
  • Spearheading media and industry analyst outreach

Data Center Administrator [DA01]

We are growing our Technical Operations team to meet the demands of our rapidly growing user community, and have a terrific opportunity for a Data Center Administrator with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. This position is primarily onsite at local data centers, with occasional onsite work in our Oakland offices, and travel to remote data center locations a few times per year.

Our team is small, agile and dedicated. We value diligence and creativity in scaling our infrastructure while consolidating servers as our usage continues to grow. We're looking for the right person for this position - someone who's ready to dig in on day one, with substantial hands-on experience in data centers and a "can-do" attitude.

Responsibilities:
As a member of our Technical Operations team, you will have primary responsibility for the daily operations of our San Jose and San Francisco co-location data centers. Primarily on site in San Jose, you will be the eyes, ears and hands for our team there - coordinating everything from rack mounting servers, performing routine maintenance and hardware troubleshooting to structured cable design, operating system installs, cross-connect installs, vendor deliveries and physical plant maintenance.

Requirements:
You must be self-motivated, capable of managing your time well, and work efficiently without close supervision. Meticulous and well-documented work is an absolute must. You should be enthusiastic about hardware and cabling installation, diagnostics, and repair. You will be responding to trouble tickets opened by staff members but will also be expected to proactively identify and resolve problems as you gain familarity with our systems.

  • 5 years extensive PC Hardware experience and detailed knowledge of components (x86, x86_64 with a strong preference for white/grey box systems)
  • Minimum 5 year hands-on UNIX/Linux experience, including solid knowledge of OS install, configuration, and boot
  • Experience working in a 24/7 customer-facing environment
  • Experience building & maintaining structured cabling
  • Strong experience with host-based storage & RAID
  • Strong understanding of ethernet networking & TCP/IP
  • Reliable transportation between Oakland, San Jose & San Francisco (available as needed, 24/7)
  • Be able to lift 50lb to a height of 6ft
  • Available for occasional off-hours (24/7) on-site data center support

Desired:

  • Experience with Debian or Ubuntu
  • Experience with enterprise switches (Cisco, Force10, Arista, Foundry)
