What do you enjoy the most about Thanksgiving? Maybe you’re back from school for the first time, visiting family and friends or maybe you’re hosting a feast of food, football and family fun. No matter what your plans are for this Thanksgiving holiday, our curators have come up with some great station options to be your personal soundtrack on Thanksgiving Day. Give one of these stations a listen and then let the tryptophan take over:
Thanksgiving Day: An eclectic mix of everyone from The Beatles and Led Zeppelin to Adam Sandler and Mumford and Sons. Listen while cooking, enjoying family and friends or when you sit down to enjoy your Thanksgiving feast.
Thanksgiving Country: The softer side of Country from the 70s to today, featuring a mix of classics through the decades and artists like: Dolly Parton, Alabama, Martina McBride and Blake Shelton.
Swingn’ Thanksgiving: Dinner music from the Rat pack and more. You’ll hear Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble and maybe Vince Guaraldi Trio to get you into the holiday spirit.
For a real Classic Rock treat, try creating an “Alice’s Restaurant” station. This 18-minute long song by Arlo Guthrie was based on a true incident in his life that began on Thanksgiving Day 1965, and later inspired a 1969 movie of the same name.
Speaking of movies, on Thanksgiving day in 1976, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and many more, all joined The Band for the legendary Last Waltz concert at the Winterland in San Francisco. This year, on November 24, an all-star lineup will reenact that fateful evening. Billed as “The Complete Last Waltz”, the show will feature performances from members of Furthur, Wilco, Gomez, Dr. Dog, Ween, The Fruit Bats, Vetiver, Nada Surf, The Submarines and more. Pretty cool stuff!
Finally, how about a little Thanksgiving half-time comedy? Funny Fest Comedy, features stand-up favorites who know their way around a buffet like John Pinette, Mitch Fatel, Bill Cosby, Al Madrigal, Jim Gaffigan and Maria Bamford.
Happy Thanksgiving from your friends at Pandora!
By the way, we’re curious….What artist would you invite to Thanksgiving dinner?
