I’m Mat, but my fancy radio name is “Mat Diablo.” I am a student and curator of all things alternative, indie, rock, and metal. Music is my oxygen. My favorite song of all time is “Teen Age Riot” by Sonic Youth. My favorite album of all time is Cocteau Twins’ Heaven Or Las Vegas. I could never come up with only one favorite band, but the Dismemberment Plan, Hot Water Music and Braid are all good options. I grew up around Lake Tahoe, and as such, the first concert I attended was the fake Beach Boys with Mike Love and Uncle Jesse – at Caesars Tahoe. Despite that, I still love going to see live music from new bands.
