"Model Trane" is a piece written and arranged by Turtle Island Quartet for their Grammy-winning tribute to Trane, A Love Supreme: The Legacy of John Coltrane. In this selection, the group accomplishes the rare feat of infusing a string quartet arrangement with the unbridled harmonic and melodic experimentation of bebop, here basing the themes on a modal construction ala "Impressions."
