For the first time ever, Pandora is now presenting original and exclusive concert clips. Tuesday through Friday, each morning a new song will appear from the week's featured artist. Our first artist is Tift Merritt. Here she accompanies herself on a Fender Rhodes electric piano and sings "Good Hearted Man" from her second album, Tambourine. Here is Tift Merritt's artist profile on Pandora.

there are some really fantastic beats with christian salsa playing in fl.on saturday @ noon till 3 called fiesta tropical on 88.3 fm. I noticed you did not have any in this genre. Also why does a song skip so quickly without a chance to hear if I like it! Thanks, How do I select a foreign language on an artist or do you not offer that yet?

WOW!!!! Masterfully done! I'll be looking for more songs from you.

Nice voice. Sounds a little like Carole King

Posted by: kathy at November 13, 2008 02:53 PM

it's beautiful music

Posted by: dan at November 13, 2008 02:54 PM

Eh. I think she has potential, but she ain't all that. She isn't sultry enough, but let's see what happens with this "Good Hearted Man" ten years from now, lol. Maybe then she'll sing a real blues song and with more feeling. Right now everything seems a little forced.

that was beautiful

Posted by: chanel at November 13, 2008 02:55 PM

OMG... what a gorgeous voice.

Anybody else hear some Janis Joplin here? Tift's voice has a real soulful sound/feel to it with that raspy edge to some of her phrasingsliked it very much. Keep it coming.

Beautiful voice/song! I like her.

P.S. What are those "Pandora tiles" on the wall behind her? I would love a poster like that! Or, I'd settle for a desktop wallpaper with my favorite artists :)

...just great! ...I really enjoyed listening Tift! ... Congrats!

You need the horns. I don't know why she bothers to perform this song in new arrangements - the album cut with the horns is the best this is going to sound.

Posted by: Dan at November 15, 2008 08:53 AM

dan,

you're a doofus. must every performer be sultry to be good. gee and uh er...grow up.

Saw Tift play in Minneapolis this year.
Waiting / wanting her to comeback soon.

Selfishly I hope she still plays small venues.

BTW, I'M a good-hearted man, if you're still looking!
