Great Places To See Live Music: Iridium Jazz Club

download

Iridium.jpg 51st and Broadway, midtown Manhattan. It's an amazing neighborhood that features a particularly great place to experience live jazz: Iridium Jazz Club. During the day, Iridium's founder Ron Sturm filled us in on the club's history and showed us around backstage. That night, jazz clarinetist Eddie Daniels played a few great sets, all while celebrating both his birthday and the release of his new album, Live At The Iridium.

I'm online via AOL.
Why wouln't Pandora work, unless I'm using Explorer?
Please try and let me know if there is a way I can fix this problem.

Thank you.

I sent this to our support address (pandora-support@pandora.com), and they should be contacting you soon, Nquezebo.

Lucia -- Eddie Daniels was great. I've been a fan ever since his Charlie Parker tribute back in the late '80s.

Hmmm... I copied the html to embed the video in a page, but it plays the video about the Great American Music Hall rather than the one about Iridium.

Ah, good catch, Jeremy -- I just changed it. Does it do that now?

Could or have you thought of putting in something like what's there; but maybe an hour or two or three, just curious.

Posted by: Channing Davis at October 31, 2007 05:54 PM

Hi, Channing,

Just making sure I understand correctly -- have we thought of making these videos two or three hours long rather than five or six minutes long?

Featuring a longer program is something we would like to try someday. Given the format restrictions, though, it may be a while before we'll be crafting any feature-length documentaries or concert movies.

Thanks for watching, though, and your comments are most appreciated.

Wow, I want to go there. Sadly, I'm many miles away. My sister lives there though...maybe I can direct her to go in my place.

Last Christmas I was in the Caribbean and heard some great Christmas music Virgin Island style played by a DJ at a beach party. Do you have any Island style Chirstmas albums in your library?

Live Jazz!!! WOW, Thats something that's not heard of in this area (Ft Worth, TX). Trying to talk a friend into coming toNYC with me in the Spring - will definitely be coming by your club.

Not really a jazz fan, but really enjoyed this, especially the drummer. I know what they mean about jazz clubs can't be too big, this kinda reminds me of some of the places, jazz clubs, in the movie Lady Sings the Blues. Has the same kinda cool feel to it. I guess truth be told I do like a tiny bit of the jazz and all that era, just like it better when the blues are added.
