Christmas is by far the most popular holiday station, featuring all of the classic holiday tunes. Listeners have also been enjoying holiday music across a wide variety of genres such as Classical Christmas, Country Christmas and R&B and Pop Holidays. This year you can also celebrate the holidays with Indie Holidays, Rockin’ Holidays or Family Christmas.

Our data shows that last year, Vermont and New Hampshire listeners had the most holiday spirit with more than 40 percent of listeners in those states tuning into holiday music on Christmas day. What state will listen most in 2013?

Another state embracing their inner Mele Kalikimaka was Hawaii, with 36 percent of Pandora listeners there tuning into a holiday-themed station. Tropical Holidays Radio features Christmas music from Hawaii and the Caribbean. It’s perfect for spending the holidays on the beach or imagining that you’re already there.

Smooth Jazz, Jazz Holidays and Swingin’ Christmas are available if you’re feeling jazzy. Celtic Holidays reflects the unique Celtic music tradition, while Christmas Choral Classic features some of the most beautiful choral performances from around the world.

With new holiday music already available from artists including Kelly Clarkson, George Strait, Bad Religion and Jewel, you can also tune in to Today’s Christmas, which features the latest Christmas releases.

Ever wonder what your fellow listeners are thumping up most during the holidays?  The four most “thumbed-up” songs of the 2012 holiday season were:

  • “All I Want for Christmas is You” – Mariah Carey
  • “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” – Zooey Dechenel and Leon Redbone
  • “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” – Brenda Lee
  • “Jingle Bell Rock” – Bobby Helms

Happy Holidays from all of us at Pandora, we wish you a music filled holiday!

  1. It is hard to beat some good ol’ Charlie Brown around this time of the year! It certainly sounds like your holiday station is worth checking into. I have actually spent the last two days listening to one of my personal holiday music staples, the late John Denver. In particular, his special album that he did with the Muppets. This was a childhood favorite the we played a lot in our home around this time of the year. I really do love that nostalgic Christmas feeling that I get when I listen to good holiday music.

  2. Off topic from this post, but want someone at Pandora to know how much I HATE the advertisement you are displaying when I listen to music. (No, I don’t want to see a product for menopausal vaginal dryness — have some respect for your users!)

  3. I like the idea of your “Celtic Christmas” channel, but w/in the first 2 hrs of listening, I was subjected to 4 or 5 different versions of Greensleeves/What Child is This. There are other Christmas carols done in a folk vein.
