Over the past few years we’ve heard a growing chorus of listeners asking about our plans for bringing Pandora into the car. Many of you are likely plugging your smartphones into an aux jack to get Pandora through your car speakers already, but we know that the long term solution is something more seamlessly integrated with the vehicle.

To that end, for several years now we’ve had an extensive engineering and business effort underway to bring Pandora into vehicle dashboards – and it’s now starting to bear fruit, with Pandora-enabled cars and trucks actually hitting the showrooms.

We’re currently partnered with 11 of the world’s most well-known automotive brands and many aftermarket manufacturers and have had a steady stream of vehicle launches over the last few months. We thought it would be useful to pull together a list of the car companies and car audio manufacturers whose products support Pandora…just in case you’re in the market for a new ride or you’re retrofitting your sound system.

  • BMW
  • MINI
  • Buick
  • Chevrolet
  • GMC
  • Ford
  • Lincoln
  • Hyundai
  • Mercedes-Benz
  • Scion
  • Toyota
  • Alpine Electronics
  • JVC
  • Kenwood
  • Pioneer
  • Sony

These auto integrations rely on the Pandora application that you have running on your smartphone today. When you hook up your phone with your car and launch Pandora, the popular controls of the Pandora service – like station selection and thumbs feedback – shift into the vehicle dashboard so you don’t have to fiddle with your phone to enjoy and interact with Pandora while driving. That way, as our auto partners have been known to say, you can “keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road” while enjoying your Pandora stations.

We’ll do our best to keep listeners informed of the latest automotive launches. Our ambition is to have Pandora built into every model of every car – making personalized radio just as ubiquitous and easy to use as traditional broadcast radio. There’s much more to come.

I do hope you have the opportunity to enjoy personalized radio in the car. It’s a simple, yet transformational experience!

There is a bug on the new site, it goes into indefinite loop when ad comes up. It is very annoying to say the list.

I minimize Pandora to a small window so I can work efficiently, give songs a thumbs up or down and quickly glance at song names or band names. The new look makes the window needed quite large shrinking my work window. Can you do something about it? If not, I guess my efficiency will just have to suffer.

9/30/2011 Hi all: Pandora for the car sounds great. When I pluged a Blackberry into the MP3 port of a 2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid it plays with the cars volume until the song changes and a very loud bang (as loud as a train wreck) is made from the artifact between songs. Pandora will be on my next car. The new Pandora One Web site is cool except for the skip artifact on all of the songs that sounds like a real quick start and stop of less than a second. It is anoying Im guessing that it has somthing to do with copyrights or royalty tracking. Happy listening Tony

I have used Pandora's iPhone app in my car for a while now, but playing through FM radio obviously doesn't deliver the best quality... I think this would be a great addition to any vehicle. If this feature is available by the time I am in the market for a new vehicle, it will definitely affect my purchasing decision.

How about getting Pandora on Windows Phone 7 Mango? Main reason why I won't by a subscription because I can't get it on my phone. :-(

For the last week or so Pandora on the Cell phone has not been playing complete songs. I contacted help from this web site and got no response. Today I got tired of it and uninstalled if from my phone. Too bad, it was good while it lasted....

With Pandora working on getting into vehicle dashboards by way of the vehicle manufacturer or by audio company manufactures will Pandora still be free for those services or will Pandora charge for the service to be in your vehicles

I am not happy with the new upgrade. The music always skips. I even purchased the upgrade, and it still skips. Bring back the old Pandora.

I like the new Pandora, except for one thing. When I want to listen to a certain station, it plays 2 or 3 songs, and then quits, and I have to choose another station. It's almost like they're forcing me to "shuffle". If I'd wanted to shuffle, I'd have clicked on it

Hi, Since I can't find a customer service link anywhere to submit comments/suggestions, I'll just comment here. The new website for Pandora One is a pain. I click on an artist or album to get more info (and then usually jump to Amazon to buy if I like it enough), but it goes to the big blue website, sits there and thinks for a while, and then starts playing the station on top of the one currently playing. Can you please try to improve performance and either stop the auto-play or at least check to see if the desktop app is already playing? It's really annoying. Otherwise, keep up the great work. I just renewed for another year.

I love pandora, let me state that first before I state this. I only wish that the Ads didn't pop up in the middle of songs. I'm fine with hearing the ads, but when they interrupt a song it completely ruins it.

Never had issues with Pandora until the new format. Now it cuts out constantly. I even have an "excellent" wireless signal. What's up with that?

I love the new format but...I now seem to have a weird situation where while I'm listening to Pandora my XP File Explorer will not let me type into the address bar!! I've had the IT group look at it, and (of course) they are baffeled. But killing Pandora resolves the problem, and restarting brings the problem back!! I listen to Pandora a lot at work, but I need to DO work, and this is preventing that. PLEASE, PLEASE, take a look. Currently running XP SP3, Flash 11 (just got the latest), a mix of Office 2003 and 2007, and various engineering tools (compilers, environments, etc., Oracle development tools).

I've been having the same problems with my pandora. Keeps looping through songs without playing them when an ad comes up or I change the station. The new pandora looks nice, but what are the good looks worth if it doesn't work right? PLEASE FIX THIS PANDORA. UNTIL THEN I'D RATHER LISTEN TO MY ITUNES

I've had the same problems. After an ad comes up or after I change the station it just goes in a loop without actually playing the songs. The new Pandora looks nice, but what are the good looks worth if it doesn't even play the music you want. I prefer to listen to Pandora, but if it's not going to work, I'd rather listen to iTunes. PLEASE FIX PANDORA

I'm wondering if the subscription service will remember my custom shuffle settings after logout. The old Pandora used to do this...and the new Pandora doesn't. It's very tiresome, and seems completely unnecessary, to have to reset "My Shuffle" for every session. Why not add an option to clear all the checks in the boxes and select only the stations I want to listen too? Manually clearing dozens of stations so I can create My Shuffle every time I log in seems ridiculous

The new pandora looks good but it skips songs and the advertising ads overlap with the songs. It takes from the enjoyment of the music. Just trying to give you some feedback on your new project:)

Just like Andrea above, I too never had an issue until now. New format will equal some new bugs. I get it and imagine you guys have your hands full, but trust your list is getting shorter and shorter day by day. For info: in shuffle mode I can't uncheck stations. At first I can, but once the page "reloads" (with a new add) it rechecks it. It doesn't happen all the time but more often than not. /dpw

I listen to Pandora at work for about 40 hours a week and I love it. Unfortunately, I have to say that I really do not like the new interface. Here are some of the kinks: (1) I can't get any info on a song that I just moved to another station or became tired of(no preference change or song name even); (2) I can't access "I'm Tired," "Why" or "Move" from the top bottons; (3) it takes too long for the "I'm Tired," "Why" and "Move" menu to pop up; (4) I can't skip a song without giving it a preference from the main song display; and (5) everything is just a little too slow to respond. I also preferred seeing more than just two songs displayed at a time - I often close my work documents after a while to check on what I just heard - sometimes it displays no past songs if the last audio clip was an ad. I fully recognize these are tiny issues, but the late Mr. Jobs would tell you it is all about the details; also, I never had any of those problems on the last interface. I only provide this feedback so that Pandora will become better and succeed further! Thank you!

The new page seems to have to much to download and struggles with slower machines. The page has so much to load when there are ads, that the music starts playing before the ad is over, I've yet to hear an ad since you put it up. I'm sure this isn't what you wanted. Ditto for the video ads. It seems there is a timing issue b/t the interface and musics streams. It is rather annoying, please fix or offer the old page as an alternative.

Your new slogan should be "ADS ... Nothing but ADS!!" Is there a way that I can go back to paying $1 a month, so that I can hear MUSIC. I didn't mind the ads before, I understood why they were there ... but to interrupt the music to play an add/play over the music?!?! Thanks for the 8+ years of service, prior to your recent change. I'm going to give Slacker a chance ... so far so good. I'll check back every once in a while too see if you've started playing music again. Good luck ...

I don't know if there is a better place for feedback, but I HATE your new format. I cannot get it to save "my shuffle" like it did with "custom quickmix" and when I try to check and uncheck stations (and I have a lot due to my eclectic taste - which is why I LOVE Pandora) it doesn't work, it rechecks ones I have unchecked and wiggles all over the page! HORRIBE!!!!! PLEASE fix these bugs! I miss loving Pandora!

Recently I tried to create a station called "Johann Sebastian Bach keyboard". I got no matches for that in spite of the obvious fact that there is a HUGE volume of music that fits that search category. So I switched to Johann Sebastian Bach. This has been so unsatisfactory. Bach produced an enormous amount of music, all of which is in the public domain. I have read your description of your licensing restrictions and understand that you cannot favor particular artists beyond a certain very limited way. However, you could comply with those restrictions by playing recordings of Bach by an almost unlimited number of artists. I promise you that you will not be contacted by Bach's attorney. As it is, I am lucky if I hear 3 or 4 Bach compositions per hour and the rest is not even limited to Baroque music. It is all over the map. I have tried to limit the selections using the thumbs up & down, but the catagory seems so wide open that I am bailing the ocean with thimble! Am I the first person to want a JSBach station? I can't believe it!

The new pandora seems much less user friendly to me. Using the old Pandora with firefox it would remember my log-in information. Now, I have to manually log in each time. Nor does it recall what station I was last listening to. I am getting rather sick of it launching every time with that 80's Pop station I added at some point. Not sure if it still limits how many times you can skip a song in an hour, but this pretty much ensures that I skip one at launch. Then, if you are listening to shuffle, it seems like it must inform you after a couple of songs that you can try the 'shuffle' option you are currently listening to. Thanks Pandora for stating the obvious. Finally, when listening to shuffle, I have had stations come up that I decide I no longer want. You cannot delete a station while listening on shuffle. You have to stop shuffle and go to that station, delete it, then go back to shuffle. Where it continues to play the song from the station you just deleted. ps, if you do not enter the captcha correctly, you lose everything you had previously typed. Way to go Pandora!
