Say Hello to the New Pandora

After working away in secret for over a year, we’re finally ready to take the wraps off an entirely new pandora.com. We’ve rebuilt it from the ground up to be fast, easy, beautiful and modern. This morning TechCrunch has an exclusive look at the new site and you can learn more about it here.

Today marks the beginning of a phased rollout that will take place over the coming weeks and months. Our goal is to use this period to get your feedback about the new site and to polish things up so they’re perfect for the full launch later this year. We’ll take the next week or so to listen to your initial comments and feedback and I’ll be back to post more about the new Pandora next week.

  1. Thanks for all the thoughtful feedback on the new site everyone.
In response to some of your comments I’d like to point out a few things:
    — The best place to troubleshoot any technical issues with Pandora and to contact our support team is http://help.pandora.com
    — You can scroll back to rate previously played songs by rolling your mouse over the album art, then clicking on the arrow that appears on the left side.
    — While it’s true that it’s not possible to Bookmark songs or artists on the new site, you can have similar functionality by using Likes. You can Like songs, artists or albums, which will appear along with your previously Bookmarked songs under My Profile. To those who’ve pointed out the differences between Bookmarks and Likes, thanks for the feedback and we’ll definitely keep it in mind as we continue to work on the new Pandora.
    — You can resize the album artwork by clicking and dragging the two little dotted lines right below the album art area.
Hope some of this helps. Remember, if you’re having any technical problems just visit http://help.pandora.com and click on “email us” so we can help you out.
